  • Favorite place on the planet!!

"This fabulous 2.5 acres property is old Florida at its best! There is nothing like it in the Florida Keys or anywhere for that matter. Here you can go back in time, surrounded by water on three sides and let all your cares fall away. Whether you are a small or large group with children and/or pets, this is a safe and wonderful world for them. Memories are made here!! Typically I love to go out to eat, but when I stay here I never want to leave the property! There is a huge family style dining table and huge porches with water views. Forget restaurants! We always cook in and savor the beauty. Of course if you do choose to go out, there are plenty of fabulous restaurants nearby. The houses, gardens, beach and beach items are perfectly maintained. We were married here 3 years ago and just came back for our anniversary. It is a truly magical place in every way and we can't wait to go back!!"

  • Lovely, spacious condo

"My family just returned from a week at Ocean Reef - David's condo was nicely furnished and fully equipped with everything a family of 9 (6 adults and 3 children) needs. We took advantage of the golf course and driving range, the beautiful gym, and had the pool across from the condo to ourselves for the entire week (we went to Buccaneer Island once) . David responded quickly to any question or issue we had and was a pleasure to deal with - we highly recommend this place for a group that wants to stay together, but not right on top of each other. A few suggestions: if you plan to cook (which we did), bring your groceries (wine and liquor too) or have them delivered via Amazon Pantry - we didn't and had to ride to Florida City to shop (35 mins away) - the "market" (Wynn's) on the premises is very expensive, OK for a few items, but not for a week's worth of food! Rent your golf carts from Pete/Larry (get the number from David) - again much less expensive than on the premises ($200 wk vs. $75 daily). Visit John Pennecamp State Park in Key Largo for snorkeling - they have a reasonable tour that is great! Places outside Ocean Reef to eat: Sharkeys (happy hour), Hobo Cafe, Big Chill (beautiful view), and Senor Frijoles. PS/note the dress code on the Ocean Reef website, as they are strict about that."

  • Great outside space, hot indoor space.

"My family vacationed here for a week prior to dropping my son, husband and friend at Boy Scout Sea Base High Adventure. We were with 4 teenage boys (and two grandparents) looking for something with amenities that would keep these active scouts busy. We were drawn to the kayaks and waterfront location with close proximity to good snorkeling. The outside of the house totally delivers. It is exactly as the pictures show. The tiki equipped with hammock and hammock chairs was terrific but we spent most of the time on the beach, enjoying the sea breeze and fishing from the bulkhead. There is no pier or dock but if you do not have a boat, there is plenty of room to fish. You will need a FL license if you are over 16. Check with your local bait shop for regulations and bait recommendations (we loved Brenda across the street at Capt Pete's who is a wealth of knowledge!) A few things to note about the property: I would not consider this a 3 bedroom. Yes it does have the beds that it states however the lower level is one large open room that has 2 beds in what is largely a family room with large sectional and television. It is more of a studio. We had planned on my parents staying here but it did not give them any privacy from the teenagers and there is no inside staircase that leads to the upstairs. One must go outside and use the front stairs or the spiral staircase out back. Not a problem when the weather was nice but there were several severe thunderstorms throughout the week which I understand is a regular occurance in the summer. Also, the air condition is not adjustable. It is set to 81 degrees (which was hot and not very comfortable for my mom who suffers from asthma) during the day and appears to come on full blast late in the evening, leaving everyone searching for blankets in the middle of the night and early morning. Lastly, do not expect anyone to sleep in the terraced area during the warm weather months. The owners ask that you keep the sliding doors closed during the day and open them after 8 pm. This room was unbearably hot and two of the boys were forced to sleep on loveseats and sofas in the cooler living room. There is no ice maker which is a bummer when frozen drinks are on the bar menu. It is vacation after all! If you plan on snorkeling in the sound, make sure you stop and pick up a dive flag at any local grocery store, Walgreens or dive shop."

  • Perfect Place to Stay in Key Largo

"We rented the Rock Harbor condo for two weeks. We should have stayed longer. It is a wonderful condo and condo complex. The grounds are nicely landscaped and the beach right in front of the condo is very private and clean and comfortable. We usually had the entire beach to ourselves for the whole day. The pod of dolphins that swam by every morning was quite special. Often, the dolphin would literally be just feet away from the pier and us! And sunsets... you have to see them to believe them. The condo itself was very comfortable and nicely decorated. The two and a half bathrooms were very convenient, the kitchen, although small, was well stocked, the living room was spacious, and the balconies...Well, we were on the screened in balconies until late every night."
