  • Heaven on earth

"We have just two days remaining and I'm already dreading closing the door behind us as we leave. It is paradise in the Keys. The house is absolutely perfect, well equipped, comfortable and all things wonderful. Thank you Gene and Miriam for sharing your home with these winter-weary Tennessean!"

  • Absolutely Wonderful Christmas Vacation!

"Our family had not been fortunate enough to take a vacation for many years. We were blessed to find this treasure in a home offered by Jose and Maria. It was in a perfect location if you are interested in seeing the Keys and South Florida. Everything was within two hours driving time. The home is extremely well kept and offers space for a large family. The play area has ping pong/pool table, game table and entertaining space. The kitchen and dining area was immaculate and equipped for any need. The property was secured and the private beach was cozy and beautiful. I watched the sunrise almost every morning from the beach. We traveled to many sights and visited three state parks. It was so relaxing to come home to this private area each evening after traveling. Oh and the food ..well if you like fresh, you are surrounded by it whether it be a market, fishery or restaurant and don't forget Robert is Here fruit stand! Thank you so much Jose and Maria for your kindness and making your home available to families like ours."

  • The townhome is exactly as the pictures show.

"The people at Kawana are very friendly and eager to share information of the area. They make you feel very welcomed. The townhome had everything you needed, the one thing is that the basics for cooking are not there, salt, pepper, cooking spray which is OK, but then you go and buy it and don't use it all. Thank you for sharing your place with us."

  • Wonderful place to stay

"The house and location fit my needs perfectly and the owner (Beth) is extremely helpful and nice. I would stay again and would recommend this to my friends. The house is clean, comfortable, and roomy with nice natural daytime lighting (not dark and dingy like some places). It has everything you need so it feels like home and saves you running out to get something all the time. There is ample parking and is the easiest place ever to park a boat since it’s a corner lot you can drive thru so no need to back in. The neighborhood is quiet and about as nice as you find in the Key Largo for a reasonable price since houses are spaced out a bit (many places in Keys are jammed in in tight with neighbors close by but this one has more room). For me, the location was perfect since there is a community park on Largo Sound with a boat ramp which we used almost every day. Its great if you have a boat or kayak (which you can rent at Florida Bay Outfitters like we did and they deliver to the house). Largo Sound is great for kayaking…better than the bay really since its less choppy and you can paddle out the protected channels to Garden Cove or Pennekamp. Plus, you can easily paddle over to Pennekamp State Park and save on the entrance fee. The community park is great for boating but otherwise the scenery is limited since much of the view is blocked by a mangrove point. We just boated or kayaked out 100’ many evenings to watch the sunset from the water. We had our own bikes since the Keys are great for biking. The house comes with bikes if need be but they are not ideal for serious long distance bikers (like we are). Key largo has nice bike paths on both sides of the road but the middle Keys are way more scenic so I suggest biking there if possible. If you like to snorkel, bike, kayak, boat, watch sunsets over the water, visit the Everglades, and/or tour the keys then this house and Key Largo are for you. Its not for those wanting to sit around the beach or pool. Beware Keys traffic can be slow so allow extra time to visit Bahai Honda State Park and Key West which are must see spots. Also go to Everglades Natl park which is close to Key Largo, especially on windy days when the Keys snorkeling and water sports are not the best."
