  • Great stay!

"My family's stay in this unit was very enjoyable. We chose this condo because of the boat slip that was included, as we were in the Keys for diving and snorkeling. The unit was beautiful and had everything we needed. I realize that all details regarding the stay were listed in the VRBO listing info, but the gate code was listed incorrectly (thank goodness Allison was easily reached!) and we were able to get in without delay. Also, I felt the information regarding required parking permit for guest vehicles and marine vessels could have been more clearly stipulated up front. As it was, I discovered the facts inadvertently -- due to a "warning" ticket left on my vehicle. This information was listed in the rental details (but I missed it!). Otherwise, a flawless stay. Make Moon Bay your spot in the Florida Keys!"

  • Great view and very comfortable surroundings.

"First of all, the owner of this property, Gaston De Cardenas , was very helpful and available to answer our questions and concerns about his property. The condo was just as the VRBO listing described it. The property was clean and maintained properly. The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, utensils and food. The condo was located near many restaurants, a state park and a grocery store. One of our favorite nearby restaurants was The Pilot House. This condo was only 90 minutes from the Fort Lauderdale airport to the North and only two hours to Key West to the South. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and family . It is located right on the ocean with a fantastic view. We could not think of anything we would change about our visit to Key Largo and this property."

"Heading for our long weekend away we were a little nervous considering the serious drop in positive reviews. We have stayed in the keys many times. This trip was two couples(early 50's) enjoying a long holiday weekend. Dividing the cost between the two couples meant we paid less than a hotel room and had the plus of a full kitchen and laundry facilities and room to spread out. The a/c was plenty cold. The hot water was plenty hot. The cable tv was fine. The beds were comfy. We didn't encounter any issues with the house at all. The house was cleaned when we arrived, in fact the cleaners came back and asked if we wanted them to fold the laundry they had left in the dryer. Yes the house needs a deep cleaning like the berber carpeting is deeply stained. However, we go to the keys with kayaks in tow and after a day on the water, we come dragging into a house with sand and muck and wet, so we wouldn't like to stay in a place that we felt like we had to be totally tidy in. We also were able to bring our dog along, another plus. We couldn't have sat outside in July as we would have just been eaten alive by the mosquitos, but we were able to use the grill one night and it was fine. The dock is showing signs of aging, but the hole is intentionally part of the dock, to allow for mangroves growing there. We never felt unsafe walking on it. Yes the boat is old, but we weren't bothered by it. We go to the Keys to mostly kick back, relax, kayak, and fish. I can see how if you were going to stay at the house as a major part of your time there, that you could be disappointed, but clean and functional works fine for us as long as we aren't paying a premium price. The salt air is so hard on property in the keys, to keep a place in top shape requires expensive regular maintenance that probably would eat up most profit. So, I'm sure it's a balancing act for an owner to figure out what to invest in and what to let go. Also we did receive our security deposit back in the time stated. Would we stay there again? Yep."

  • Amazing

"We stayed at the house for a little over a month. We were down in the area for work and found this little gem. There were three adults sharing the house so there was more then enough room. Out of that whole time I think we cooked at the house a total of two nights. One guy did you use the outside grill more often though. This place was set up for turn key usage, from Tupperware to a Keurig, it was all there! There are four bathrooms in the house, each master bedroom upstairs having their own as well as the room downstairs. The final bathroom is in the hallway that is available to guests and the final two rooms that have a day bed in each. These two rooms and the hallway bathroom were never used once while we were there. Laundry room was up in the main house and in very good order. The neighborhood was quiet with most people that we saw waving hello. Personally, I enjoyed the back patio where I spent almost every night enjoying a beer and watching the boats rock back and forth along the canal. Not only would I recommend staying here again, but I plan on staying here again as I know my group will be back sometime in the Spring of 2017!"
