  • Exactly as advertised, Very nice!

"This house is exactly as the photos depict and a very nice base to explore the Keys, Miami, and the surrounding area. The owner is very cordial and helpful. When we arrived the cable wasn't working and the owner spent several hours of his time to correct the issue. You can't ask for better than that! The kayaks are a nice addition as well. There are a ton of places to eat within a couple minutes drive, grocery stores within a few miles as well. As for the house, it is exactly as pictured. Affordable, good location, very helpful can you go wrong?"

  • Better Than We Imagined! Vacationing at its best!

"Hard to know where to begin... The Big Bamboo is full of charm, comfortable, ideally located and fun for our small family of 2 adults, 1 teenager and 2 small dogs. As mentioned in previous reviews, it *is* a boat so you must be comfortable with steps and maneuvering but we found that to be part of the adventure! The boat was extremely clean, all the furniture was comfortable (especially the king bed!) and we had all we needed for cooking, making drinks and spending the days outdoors. Abby was gracious, helpful and the perfect hostess! Murphy, her dog, was also a charmer! The Big Bamboo is tucked into a small resort called Dream Bay. We had no idea that there would be such a fantastic feeling of community and we feel like we truly made new friends!! (we miss you Mark!) From other vacationers to the year-round locals, everyone was welcoming and relaxed. How can you not be when you're in paradise? The beach with tiki huts, kayaks, hammocks, paddleboards and lounge chairs was perfect!! Very well maintained and clean. Same can be said for the bath house. We were delighted by the array of fish we saw when we snorkeled right from the beach! Not to mention the manatees in the marina! We appreciated how dog-friendly the community is and the convenience of pick-up bags and well placed, but non-obtrusive, trash cans. I could go on and on but in summary: If you want a unique vacation that is relaxing, entertaining, and special, you will find it on The Big Bamboo in Key Largo. Thanks Abby!"

  • Great location, perfect for family to spread out in.

"My husband, father-in-law, brother-in-law and I stayed for 4 nights. Location is only minutes off the highway but is quiet and private (gated community). There was a glitch when we first arrived that I mention only because it showed how quickly the owner, Jonathan, moved to fix it. He was super responsive and did everything you might hope for from a Homeaway owner. We used the golf cart daily to go for fun rides around the complex and to watch the sunset over the water. We swam in one of the pools and also the lagoon which turned out to be full of fish. Check out the iguanas basking on the lawns! I took a couple of yoga classes nearby and we ate our way up and down Key Largo...personal favorite was Doc's Diner's breakfast...oh and also Denny's Discount Liquor was a treasure trove of a store :)...oh and loved the Cuban coffee at Denny's Restaurant...and the key lime pie at Mrs Mac's! There was patio space for everyone to spread out in, the open lower floor plan made it a nice hangout, tv and wifi were great, hammock was wonderful, plenty of towels, a washer/drier/plus detergent etc when we washed exercise clothes and everyone was so friendly around the complex. One tip is to remember to take the owner's gate key with you as sometimes the guard at the gate goes on patrol and closes the main entrance for 10-15 minutes. If we ever came back to Key Largo, we'd be delighted to stay here again."
