Sands vacation rentals

This house and location was beautiful. Large enough to entertain friends.The kitchen and bathrooms were very well stocked with high end provisions. The views were great! We watched the sunrise from the living room and went up on top to watch the sunsets. We saw dolphins in the bay from the top and played cornhole with friends. We loved the swim spa...perfect combination of hot tub and pool. Martina was the best part of it, she was the perfect host! Very accommodating and prompt to solve any issues. We were not use to streaming and she came over numerous times to help set up the TVs. The only drawback which was out of the owners control is the canal was not clear and would fill up with seagrass. We brought our kayaks and as soon as you got to the end of the canal the water was crystal clear and we saw lots of wildlife. We enjoyed riding our bikes around the island. All the business owners were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed Big Pine Key Canal Park and Bahia Honda State Park. We frequented numerous restaurants and really liked the live music and atmosphere at KiKi's Sandbar on Little Torch key. The location of being 30 miles from Marathon or Key West was optimal. And, finally, if you want to be in the Keys and be were it's quiet and not overly commercialized, this is it! The key deer are amazing and everywhere.

We spent the week here in April. It was perfect. A few things for those who are traveling to the area for the first time. 1) The blue floating barrier in the pictures is not a swimming area, it's a barrier for the seaweed and weather. That area prior between the sea wall and the barrier is a shallow non-swimmable space to protect the property. 2) The pool is amazing and you will utilize it. It's deep enough in one end to jump in (I wouldn't recommend diving for safety) but is lots of fun for the kids. 3) The dock is essential - great for tying up boats and fishing. No cleats, just the dock pilons to tie to. Gets about 4-6 feet deep at the end and the currents are very manageable. 4) Fishing: it was hard to fish sometimes from the dock due to the seaweed (this year is especially challenging but usually not as bad) yet we still caught mangrove snapper, tarpon and other fish. The water is so clear you can see EVERYTHING, and the Cobia hunting at night is wild (we didn't catch any of them!) 5) House has everything you need to cook etc, first house I've ever been to that I didn't really need anything. 6) Bait/fish freezer was very lovely - nice to keep things separate 7) Shade: there is no shade on the dock and limited on the property (except under the houses). So you may want to bring something for that, we were fine. 8) Grocery shopping: Michelle put it best - if you need something NOW hit up the Winn Dixie on Big Pine, but if you want to do a comprehensive shopping, take the time to go to Marathon and go to either the Winn Dixie there or the Publix. 9) Smell - you may be initially put off when you first arrive during the Sargassum (seaweed) season. The seaweed itself is fine, but as it decays there can be a "rotten egg" smell. DO NOT PANIC. It's really not as significant as you think it will be. It's really only there if there is ZERO wind which there never is except when we drove up and parked. The rest of the time even my crazy picky kids and husband didn't notice it or care if they did. We will be back and stay again!

This vacation home has it all! Location, Location, Location! So much unbelievable space, inside and out! When you drive up the driveway, you just can’t believe your eyes, you don’t know where to look first, between the home and the views. The space of this home and the pool is just remarkable. Everything a family would need and want is available! Michelle and Mark keep the home and grounds so clean and pristine! Their communication is impeccable! We rented bikes from Big Pine Bike Shop, that was fun. Not only is Blue Heron Estate wonderful, Big Pine Key is a perfect spot for every want! If you want it all, this is the place to be! The perfect place to create everlasting memories with family and friends

The home was well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals, including an instant pot. Home is located with easy access to US 1. All of the rooms were very spacious. One or two minor issues were delt with quickly by the owner and property manager. We were very happy with our stay.

The home was perfect for a boating vacation on Big Pine Key. Well appointed kitchen, comfortable furniture and quiet neighborhood.

The location is convenient to all the amenities we were interested in and we had a great time. Storage for our dry goods (bread, cereal, coffee, peanut butter, beer and wine, etc.) was a bit tight, but we made do. The kitchen was stocked with every pot, pan, and utensil we needed. The decorative platters and bowls were cute and we even have one just like yours at home. It was a comfortable place to stay the month. Thank you!

First of all, the home is gorgeous! Lots and lots of room! Nice furnishings and comfy beds. But best of all, quiet, quiet location on dead end street! It is so peaceful here that we have already booked it for next year for six weeks. The owners are responsive to any needs you may have. Also, We saw numerous manatees in canal every day!! Lots of fish in canal too. Counting down the days till we go back there!!
