  • enjoyed our stay

"Even though there were a couple of bleeps when we got there as no one had been there for some months, everything was taken care of for us. We will definitely stay there again next year. We had our boat with us and had lots of room to back it up in the drive. There is a nice boat launch in the state park and 2 nice ones in Marathon. We got an email just before we left with a list of what all the light switches turned on and off. That was nice. Nice neighbors."

  • Peace and Quiet Keys Style

"We stayed in Joe and Linda's Port Pine Home (Big Pine Key) for the month of August 2016. The area was perfect for us it had canal access to Bay side and short distance to the ocean side. Their home is very clean and well cared for and very roomy. Linda was very thoughtful in stocking the kitchen with everything you could need and provided plenty of linens. We really appreciated the secure area downstairs to lock our gear and the freezer for bait and ice. The outdoor shower is a great feature. So was the fish cleaning station. The neighbors were very friendly liked them a lot. Joe and Linda were very easy reach by phone or text. We have already booked again for next year can't wait!"

  • A Wonderful Place on Big Pine Key

"We've fallen in love with the Keys and have come down 4 times over the last 3 years to the lower keys (we've stayed in Cudjoe Key as well as other locations in Big Pine.) We booked our trip relatively late but feel really lucky that we got to stay at Reel Lucky. The owners went out of their way to make it a special trip for us (we shared with them that our daughter turned one while we were coming down and they provided some small gifts/toys for the children along with party favors.) The house was clean and very well equipped, had an amazing screened-in porch overlooking the canal which we ate all our meals. The channel at the back end of the property was really nice -- we rented a kayak and explored the area and were able to row to the key deer preserve and catch some deer enjoying the ocean water. There was an underwater light in the bottom of the channel which provided a good amount of entertainment (we fantasized catching some giant fish swimming there, but while we weren't able to catch the big boys, the mangrove snapper and grunts were biting on our frozen squid bait.) I'd recommend this location to friends or relatives because its really convenient -- a very short 10 minute car ride from Bahia Honda State Park (our favorite destination in the keys and our favorite beach in the world -- we went 8 days out of the 10 we were there); a short walk, bike ride or drive to the Winn Dixie for frequent grocery/beer shopping, and close to other restaurants we like (No Name Pub on Big Pine Key, The Wharf on Summerland Key.) It was a really nice trip for my wife, four year old son, and now one year old daughter!"

  • Big Pine Key

"The house was actually better than what we expected. The house was well maintained nand in a very good neighborhood. I have rented other properties in the Keys over the years and generally found the pictures and descriptions failed to show the downsides of the properties. This house was the opposite - it was actually better than what we expected. I would stay there again and would highly recommend this property."
