  • For us, this place worked out great!

"The location of this house was our favorite part, it is right across the channel from Big Pine Key, which happens to be our favorite, with all the key deer roaming around. It is less than a half hour from Key West, and about 15 minutes from Bahia Honda State Park. We loved the water front property, it was plenty big enough for us to pull our 42 foot 5th wheel in, completely set it up, and also park two large pick up trucks. The use of the kayaks was very nice, even if the wind didn't cooperate most of our stay, and the pool was a refreshing treat. When we arrived there was only one kayak, when the listing stated two, I sent Donald a text, and he had someone bring us another the same day. The house itself is an older house, and a bit dated, but it worked out well. It was clean when we arrived, and felt comfortable. The two upstairs bedrooms are small, as the listing states they are. The master down stairs is plenty big, and has a connecting bathroom. The living room area was big, comfortable, and had a nice view of the water. The down stairs (efficiency) is nice to have for the extra fridge, and a down stairs bathroom, but I wouldn't feel comfortable letting anyone sleep down there. Donald did make sure to tell me that it is not as nice as the rest of the house, and he was right. My husband did get bit by a scorpion while walking through there one evening to use the bathroom. That was a little scary, and very painful, but after some quick research we learned that there are no deadly scorpions in FL, and by the next day there was no sign of the bite on his foot. The decks are dated, and kind of sketchy in places. We avoided the top deck because of this, but had lots of fun on the ground level. The neighborhood was quiet, and laid back. In my honest opinion the price is a bit high for this home, but since we could fit our 5th wheel in the lot (we travel full time in it for work so it's always with us), the location, the fact that they are pet friendly, and being right on the water was so nice, we would rent it again. Donald and his wife were very easy to work with, friendly, and were always quick with their responses whenever I contacted them. We thank you for sharing your home with us, Donald, all in all, we enjoyed spending the holidays there, and hated to leave the beautiful Florida Keys! Wishing you & yours all the best in 2016!"

  • Second Home

"When we first visited Key West we stayed at Poinciana Place and absolutely loved it,but we wanted to try the Seashell and 6 months later reserved it. When we got there Trevor and Sydney were just finishing putting the final touches together for us and after a quick lunch walked us through. It was everything we envisioned. The coziness of the cottage was matched only by its spaciousness. After a day at Fort Zach on the beach it was wonderful to come back and try the outdoor shower. The grill was perfect for brauts and later on the hottub was luxurious.. Especially with the different colored lights! When we felt like doing little it was very relaxing to just lounge in the living room with the shades open allowing the sun to come in or to sit on the porch swing and shoot the breeze with the local neighbors or hang out with their cat Mr. Gloria! Before we left we bought our customary Thank You card along with a couple of bottles of wine for our gracious hosts. We have always enjoyed your hospitality and we cannot wait until we come back again. The Seashell is perfectly located for quick access to Duval, Simonton, or Truman or to any of the quaint neighborhoods behind Whitmarsh... Which we took advantage of and toured. Thank You Carolyn for allowing us once again to share your home as if it were ours. We greatly appreciate it and you!"

  • Great waterfront setting

"The condo has a wonderful setting overlooking the water...from every window. The kitchen is well stocked. The bedrooms have nice linen. The towels are plenty. The patio and the patio furniture are perfect. Overall a nice place to relax.....away from the busy Key West downtown."

  • The best place to stay

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed our rental at Catherine house! Everything went easier than I could have expected. We were trading by small aircraft and as such did not have a definite arrival time. We also shipped our luggage ahead to the rental office. When we arrived at the rental office it took just a few minutes to complete the checkin process and then when we asked for our luggage we found it had already been delivered to our house! What service! Once we arrived at the house we found it was perfect for 2 couples for the week. We cooked a few meals there and had everything we needed. It was very clean and really just a great location."
