  • Living the Dream

"We rented the Million Dollar Baby for a girls getaway. This was the best girls getaway we have ever had! The house is absolutely beautiful with wonderful artistic touches throughout. The view of the Atlantic is breathtaking when you walk through the front door. There were 5 of us and we all fell in love with this house. We did not want to leave! The pool is about 10 ft from the glass sliding doors and the ocean is about 50 ft. Everything you need is there - well stocked kitchen (blender/toaster/coffee maker/dishes/ice maker/dish washer/etc..), grills if you want to grill out, there are three beautiful bathrooms, washer and dryer, patio furniture and lounge chairs, floats and noodles for the pool, TVs in every bedroom and living room, etc... You can fish right off of the dock. You can rent a boat/kayaks/jet skis and they will deliver them to the house. There are two grocery stores, Walgreens drugstores, and a Kmart right down Hwy 1 a few miles away. The heated pool is beautiful. We spent most of our time outside on the patio and in the pool enjoying the ocean view. We saw a manatee and an iguana that we named "Iggy". We did not fish but the next door neighbors were fishing right off of their dock and they caught fish and a small "Nurse" shark. We spent a day at Sombrero Beach which is just a short drive from the house. We also went to Key West. We spent one day there sightseeing and went back another day for the sunset wine cruise on a sailboat. Marathon Key is a really nice area. The residents are really nice and there is a lot to do there. You can go deep sea fishing, diving, rent/ride bikes, sight seeing, etc... There are a lot of good restaurants/bars also. I loved the dolphin bites at the Sunset Grill and the lobster reuben at the Key Fisheries was a slice of heaven. We were all living the dream staying at the Million Dollar Baby and highly recommend renting this home. Renting this home was the best thing we ever did! Thank you Kate for allowing us to stay at your home! I am sure we will be back again!"

  • Spectacular Sunset Views

"We had a fabulous holiday in Marathon staying at Villa 37, Indigo Reef. Everything ran smoothly from the initial booking, picking up the keys (even though we were slightly delayed) through to final check out on our last day. The house had everything we needed and the location was second to none - near the pool, with spectacular sunset views and set within beautifully kept grounds. Thank you."

  • A true 5-star experience

"We tend to be wary when there are more pictures of the outdoors than the indoors but Jerry's little flats in paradise break a lot of our standard rules. We are birders and naturalists and some of our most exciting sightings were 10 feet from where we were having tea. The apartment is comfortable, clean and well-appointed but you wont be spending much time indoors. The host is unusually generous with savvy advice about local restaurants, fishing, parks, pests, & weather. He knows his territory. He is even more generous with unexpected amenities like kayaks, snorkeling/fishing gear, a park pass, bicycles, & lanterns. All this extra gear is high quality and in good repair. The value of these amenities make this property an unexpected bargain. The claims about the natural diversity literally at your door are not exaggerated. If you love nature you may never leave the patio. In fact there's a hammock out there if you can't tear yourself away. Doing business with the host was trouble-free. Layton is tiny and quiet but there's a destination Italian restaurant (Acquapazza) just a couple of blocks away. The indoors is nothing fancy but it was attractive, practical, & sturdy. The bathroom was very clean and the shower is a standout. The kitchen is a little dark but perfectly serviceable. We got a chuckle out of the whimsical coffee tables. Jerry built this place for fun in a stunningly beautiful place and it delivers, big time. Rent it and get your feet wet! Highest recommendation!"
