  • ANOTHER "AWESOME" VACATION !!

"Our 4th visit to ISLAND TRADER and we stayed a month this time! A wonderful relaxing vacation. The amazing view is still mesmerizing. We had one day of rain during our stay so, we really enjoyed the pool, the outdoor area and of course the amazing view. The outside is perfect ...a brand new five burner grill and new chairs under the tiki made drinks and dining with the ocean breeze a pleasure. The renovated kitchen with all new appliances is well stocked for all your indoor cooking. The wine fridge is a welcome addition..located near the wet bar in the dining area is very convenient. All the bedrooms have new high end linens and comforter sets giving the house a very updated look. The beds are comfortable and the a/c is cold. The bathrooms have new fluffy white towels and rugs to match. This home is in a very quiet neighborhood like you are on your own private island but, close to everything you need for groceries, fresh seafood, liquor and fabulous restaurants. Jackie and Bill are a delight to work with...only a phone call away. We absolutely love this house and have booked for May 2017...this is our May vacation spot and we are so so so happy to have found it. Stay here and you will be happy too !!"

  • An immaculate home in a lovely location

"The listing for this propoerty is totally accurate and if anything the villa is even more lovely when you arrive. It is immaculate inside, very well appointed and really welcoming space - with enough room for a family to have their own space. Jeanne was a delight to correspond with and her property Manager Irene quickly sorted out a couple of hiccups along the way. The villa comes with everything you might need and more. The pool is perfect for lazy days ( and we did use the resort pool one day but found it very busy and noisy so qucikly retreated back to our own sanctuary! ) The villas are quite close to each other so if you get a large family next door who arrive in 3 cars, it can get very noisy and access can become a problem ( even though residents are asked to use the nearby car park, rather than park on the pavement or grass.) Thankfully after 3 nights of pool parties till 4 o'clock they left and the villa became lovaly and quiet again!!!! Thanks also for your restaurant and outings recommendations Jeanne, the No Name pub at Big Pines Key has to be seen and the cute Key deer too. Franks Grill was also very good - but be warned - you really don't need a starter as the porions are enormous and they give you soup or salad too!! We also took an outing on a glass bottomed boat from the John Pennekamp State Park at Key Largo to see the Reef - a really great trip. The only downside with a privatre rental here, is that Hawks Cay resort is very petty about access - the pools were not a problem but our teens were unable to enter the coral activity centre to make new friends or take part in evening poolside activities ( one of the resort's big selling points) - even if you offer to pay. No reflection on Jeanne or her lovely home, just a niggle about the resort, after all you are staying there and spending money at their property - the Alma restaurant is very good, as is the spa, so you would think they would want to find a way of working with all guests!! Thanks for letting us stay at your lovely Villa Jeanne, we had a great time and fully recommend it."

  • Perfect get away!

"Our family of 4 just stayed at this wonderful home! The owners were wonderful to work with and the home is just as it 's described. We walked to the beach, the cooler and beach cart they provided were awesome! It made all the difference in us not having to pack and unpack each day. The house was very clean and it had everything we needed, even nightlights! The bathrooms are well updated. The porch and fans were relaxing. I do wish we would have rented kayaks or paddle boards to explore the canals but with 2- 5 year olds, we just went to the beach daily. We did drive to Key West one day b/c it was supposed to rain in Marathon. We did try to rent a boat but they weren't operating due to the hurricane on the other side. We saw lots of life around the house including 3 manatees and jelly fish. We snorkeled all around the little rocky coves that are at Sombrero Beach. We went to the fish markets and grocery and ate most of our meals at the house. It was all great! Thanks David and Grace (and Kate) for allowing us to use your beautiful home!"

  • Resort Life with Personal Touch!

"We had the privilege of renting out not one but two of the properties. I could not have been happier with the quality of service we received. There was open communication at all time and the properties were well kept and equipped. They were super conveniet to the Hawk's Cay resort amenities. I definilety will be coming back again!"
