  • Nice location! Don't plan visit during end of July and August, too many businesses closed.

"Really nice rental, easy to be in and relax. We were able to walk to town and back for a lil nap...when we return in cooler weather, we look forward to a meal or relaxing on the screened porch. Only drawback to our stay had nothing to do with the house, but it was the off-season, which we didn't know, if we had, we would have postponed our stay. We drove 8 hours and there were, at least, 4 to 5 restaurants/attractions we had on our list, which were closed for break....We are from Louisiana, where the thermometer hits 90s all summer, as well, and few to none of our establishments close down for a Summer break...(nice for business owners, but not so much for visitors who aren't aware.)...We will definitely return to Cedar Key... Friendly people and good clam chowder! Felt 2 nights was too much, this time of year, though."

  • So Relaxing.......

"What a delicious surprise. Its a hidden gem right in the middle of town. We passed by it twice before we found it. The foliage and the natural yard and the huge tree (adorned with fairy lights) are awesome. Little turtles often came to visit. The fenced in yard is great for doggies....plus it appears that it also keep the many local feral cats out!!!Privacy abounds, yet we loved being able to walk a few blocks to eat and have a brew or 2!! The dogs loved walking along the water ways....and through the enchanting neighborhoods. The inside of the cottage is rustic with updated amenities and many delightful touches. ( Loved the hanging shutter divider in the family room.)The cottage reminded me of my aunts much loved cottage on the river up North. The porch swing is perfect for reading a book and sipping a G+T. We plan to return when the weather turns cooler in the fall.........it was in the high nineties while we were there, but that was the temp at home as well. Thoroughly loved our vacation!!! Thanks for sharing your beautiful cottage."

  • Old Florida at it's Beat

"Perfect location on the Ichetucknee River very close to the State Park. You can raft or tube down the Ichetucknee river in the state park or start at the dock in front of the house and float down a private run on the river past houses on the Three Rivers Estates. About an hour run and really nice. Nice little swimming area with little current close by for the little ones. The house is large enough for a family or groups of friends with four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a great kitchen, and living area. Clean inside but a little buggy outside sometimes but not too bad. The screened porch is great with an awesome view of the crystal clear river. Very comfortable beds and furniture. Dishwasher, toaster, and microwave are supplied in kitchen but wish there was a toaster oven and you might want to bring a blender. We have been here for three times and always had lots of fun. Very private and quiet. Saw lots of wildlife including deer and otter. Highly recommend this place to get away from it all and relax. Bring your blow up floats, boats, tubes, and rafts for a really fun time. If it is colder you can rent Kayaks and canoes in the state park for a reasonable fee."

  • A wonderful house for a family reunion

"Miss Etta's house was perfect for our gathering of five couples with a few kids. The house had everything we needed, was a delightful setting, and is spread out enough and open so that we didn't feel that we were on top of each other. The owner and caretaker were exceptionally attentive and helpful throughout the process. Cedar Key is a quiet and pleasant island. Not a lot to do but relax, bird-watch, and kayak, but that was all OK with us!"
