  • Very nice, beautifully maintained property.

"Loved the condo, easy access to the beach, beautiful pool. Condo was spacious and clean. Beautifully decorated, comfortable beds. Beautiful, large beach front balcony. Need new elevator, and bathrooms in this unit could stand to be updated. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend this condo and location."

  • Property ID 49979 - Schelor's Villa

"We had a fantastic time!! The layout of the condo was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for. Although it's not directly on the beach, it is only a minute's walk. I actually liked the view of the beautiful trees that hung over the deck for different scenery. We would definitely go back to the Schelor's condo. They were excellent to work with and it's well worth the price! Loved, loved, loved it!! Page, Matt, Perrin and John"

  • An amazing long weekend

"I flew in from NY with my Grandson to meet my daughter (from Fl) and my Niece and family (from SC). This was one week after the hurricane. The owner was absolutely amazing at getting me the info I needed as due to the storm not all of the internet was up and working. This home was very nice and very clean, everything we expected plus more. The beach is beautiful and when you want to get out of the direct sun spending some time at the pool was just as nice. I had never been to Amelia Island and now I plan on going back, it is such a beautiful place. I would highly recommend this place and definitely plan on going back with my family."

  • A Good Place to Stay in a Good Location

"My wife and I, our daughter and their two children stayed at the Shipwatch condo for 5 nights the last week of October and are happy to add another 5 star review. The upstairs, downstairs format worked well for us, but some folks might find the downstairs a big dark. The condos on the upper levels of this 5 story building are all on one floor and the bedrooms have views as well as the living room and dining room. On the other hand, for us the quiet and the dark encouraged the grand kids to sleep in which meant we had a couple of quiet hours to drink coffee and watch the sunrise from the balcony. Amelia Island Plantation covers over a thousand acres and is anchored by the Omni resort center. The Omni is three buildings up the beach from Shipwatch along a winding road of live oaks dripping with Spanish moss. Scattered around the acreage are several restaurants and recreational opportunities for the kids like a mini-golf course, kayaking and fishing in the ponds. We didn't try any of these things because the kids wanted to concentrate on playing in the pool or at the beach and we cooked in every night. The ready access to the pool was another plus. From the downstairs (bedroom) level, you step out the door and down a short exterior stairway, cut under the building and you are at the pool. You can't get closer and you don't have to use the elevator, which friends in the upper level told us was really slow. To get to the beach you go around the pool on a boardwalk, cross a narrow fairway (look to your right for golfers, and then up some stairs and over the dunes to the beach. Great beach. At the end of October the water was still 75 so the kids were in the waves a lot. But the pool was their favorite. It is heated. I'd say to at least 80 and it is big, with three large semi-circular sections that make it look a little bit like Mickey Mouse's head from a certain angle. The section closest to the condo building is about 3-4 feet deep, the middle section is a bit deeper, and the section toward the ocean is about 8 feet deep. Lots of nice lounge chairs around the pool. This time of year there was good sun from about 10 am until about 3:30 when it went behind the building. But there was still good sun at the beach for a couple more hours. As others have mentioned the condo has all the utensils you will need, nice furniture, a big balcony and lots of tvs. Biggest plus: a great, responsive host/owner. This is not an agency managed rental."
