  • Definitely heaven by the sea!

"This home was perfect for our family! It sits literally ON the beach, which is great because those taking a break from the sun could sit on the deck and still feel like they were in the middle of things. It is a quiet, peaceful setting. There were days we felt like we had the beach to ourselves....just awesome! The house had everything we needed - bedding, towels, tons of kitchen items including spices and some cooking basics. There were lots of 'toys' for little kids and big kids alike. Our group enjoyed the kayaks, boogie boards, footballs, digging and sand castle tools while outside - plus lots of games, toys and puzzles inside. It is only a 10 - 15 minute drive to the grocery store. We also enjoyed some of the local restaurants like Aunt Kates and Kingfish - both of which had great food and a great outdoor atmosphere. The house is comfortable and set up for being together with a large kitchen/dining area open to the living room. The appliances look to be new - including the washer and dryer. Fred provided all of the detergent, dish soap, etc - which saved us lots of money compared to previous rentals where you had to stock up on these things yourself. He left us plenty of ways to reach him if needed during our stay. We even met the neighbors - who offered to help however needed. It was just a great trip. We are hopeful to be back soon!"

  • Loved it!

"This condo is like being in you own home. It is well maintained, clean and well stocked. Easy parking and a short drive to restaurants. The view can't be beat, can lie in bed and look at the ocean. Would definitely stay here again."

  • #blendedfamilyvacation

"This was the first blended family vacation we have taken. Our children range from 12 years to 27 years old plus an eight month old. We had plenty of space for everyone. The Secret Retreat II was much more than described on this website. Cooking in the kitchen was a breeze. Everything that we could possibly have needed was there. The new gas grill was super nice as well. We enjoyed playing card games as well as board games. For the first time in what seems like forever, no one was on their electronic devices. We had quality family time!! The outside porch area was awesome. The rocking chairs as well as the round table that sat four was a great place to conversate and enjoy each other's company. We did go to the beach several times, but was still a little too cool to get in the water for very long, but we did enjoy listening to the ocean waves and watching the kids play. As the mom, I found it super convenient to have the washer and dryer there. No one went home with dirty clothes. I was even able to make sure all of the towels/linens were washed and dried for the next family. We had plenty of towels, wash clothes and linen for our entire stay. We lacked nothing. Anne was awesome. We checked in after dark on a Friday night. Wine was chilled for us when we arrived which was so nice!!! I simply asked about a place to purchase beer and ice.............before I knew it, she was back with both. I told her she went above and beyond what we ever expected. She and Michael are awesome to work with. We have plans to return around Christmas and the kids definitely want to come back for Spring Break 2017. I could go on and on about Secret Retreat, but I think you have to visit yourself to see just how wonderful, quiet and relaxing it is!! Oh, and did I mention, the master bathroom shower ROCKS!!! It is huge, plenty of room and really nice rain shower!!"

  • Beach Vacation with a lot of history!

"We really enjoyed this Condo...easy 15 minute walk to the beach through a nice boardwalk (we have a 5 year old so could be much faster for others!) We loved the layout of the condo and the furnishings, the added elevator was a nice thing when unpacking and packing plus taking the wagon down for the beach! It was a very nice quiet complex, the pool even looked great- though we only went to the beach. Again we have a 5 year old who is very pale...so a couple hours at the beach in the morning than some nice time in town with a couple more hours in the evening at the beach was perfect."
