  • Winter get a way

"We spent a month in this condo this winter and really enjoyed our stay. It is equipped with everything that you need. We especially enjoyed the ocean view from the patio, the close walk to the beach and the great art work of the Impressionists on the walls. It was a great place to relax after spending a day exploring St Augustine. We have come to St. Augustine for the past 4 years and this was the best yet. Loved it!"

  • Very Nice Beach Cottage

"We arrived just before Christmas 2016. Great location, right on the beach, short walk to the shoreline, great view. We loved the atmosphere, very quaint and large wooden deck and screened in patio were nice touches. Older property, so the bathrooms are very tiny, in fact had to sit almost sideways on the north side bathroom and had to remove the roll of toilet paper to be somewhat "comfortable." The other bathroom is a tiny bit larger, but not much. Showers, no tubs. Everything worked ok, just dated appliances and such, but they work. Nice feel to the living area and the TV gets many good cable channels. Lots of very cool tortoises that live around the dunes, great fun looking at them :) Overall a very nice stay. Just a couple of things that could make it better: If you don't have a daily cleaning service, you should leave enough towels for four or five people. One set for each is not enough if staying for a week or so since there is no washer or dryer in the cottage. We had black ants in the kitchen and the bathrooms. Not overrun, but they were scouting. In damp areas, I feel you need to treat for pests monthly, so it needs a treatment, now. There were old asphalt shingles strewn about the grassy areas in front and the front circle driveway. We realize the hurricane caused it, but time to pick it up and throw the shingles in the garbage. The deck had a persistent wasp trying to make a nest under it, etc. The decking and railing, etc. are old, so in time, it will rot through and become a step hazard. At some point, it would be good to have the railing replaced to avoid splinters and possible breakage from normal use. It was OK for us, so not urgent, but should be addressed. There was also only one roll of toilet paper for each bathroom. Not enough for 5 or 6 people for a week. We realize we have to buy stuff to cook and basic stuff, but in the hotel industry, the hotel or rental should provide the toilet paper. One small bar of soap, no shampoo or anything for the bathrooms, so it is bare bones. Providing it would be cheap and a nicer, more hospitible touch, but I guess soap is too expensive? The only other thing that would make it a 5 star vs a 4 star is that it would be really great to have a hot tub on the deck so that you could watch the ocean and take a hot tubber, but that is optional and would not prevent us from visiting again. :) Old St. Augustine is a short 4 mile drive to the north and there are plenty of places to eat and shop."

  • Perfect Stay - Perfect Location!

"This duplex was just perfect for my family of four plus my two fur babies. Very cutsie decor with a fun beachy feel. There were four bikes which I recommend riding along the shore. The beach chairs are quite tattered and worn with memories but worthy of a few more. The location was perfect because the beach was a short stroll as well as several casual restaurants. You really don't even have to drive anywhere. Just enjoy the beach til you get hungry, rinse off at the house under the outdoor shower and stroll over to Mango's or Beachcombers (1 block over on the beach) or the awesome Taco Shop across the street. All of which were really good! We booked a couple of ghostly tours to keep our daughters entertained in the history of this beautiful old city. We chose the discounted groupon offers which were really fun. The weather was beautiful every single day. I recommend taking a small spray bottle of water to help with the heat. Upon booking, the owner, Kathleen, was very nice and timely with communications. I highly recommend this adorable little beach house!!"
