  • Very Nice Beach Cottage

"We arrived just before Christmas 2016. Great location, right on the beach, short walk to the shoreline, great view. We loved the atmosphere, very quaint and large wooden deck and screened in patio were nice touches. Older property, so the bathrooms are very tiny, in fact had to sit almost sideways on the north side bathroom and had to remove the roll of toilet paper to be somewhat "comfortable." The other bathroom is a tiny bit larger, but not much. Showers, no tubs. Everything worked ok, just dated appliances and such, but they work. Nice feel to the living area and the TV gets many good cable channels. Lots of very cool tortoises that live around the dunes, great fun looking at them :) Overall a very nice stay. Just a couple of things that could make it better: If you don't have a daily cleaning service, you should leave enough towels for four or five people. One set for each is not enough if staying for a week or so since there is no washer or dryer in the cottage. We had black ants in the kitchen and the bathrooms. Not overrun, but they were scouting. In damp areas, I feel you need to treat for pests monthly, so it needs a treatment, now. There were old asphalt shingles strewn about the grassy areas in front and the front circle driveway. We realize the hurricane caused it, but time to pick it up and throw the shingles in the garbage. The deck had a persistent wasp trying to make a nest under it, etc. The decking and railing, etc. are old, so in time, it will rot through and become a step hazard. At some point, it would be good to have the railing replaced to avoid splinters and possible breakage from normal use. It was OK for us, so not urgent, but should be addressed. There was also only one roll of toilet paper for each bathroom. Not enough for 5 or 6 people for a week. We realize we have to buy stuff to cook and basic stuff, but in the hotel industry, the hotel or rental should provide the toilet paper. One small bar of soap, no shampoo or anything for the bathrooms, so it is bare bones. Providing it would be cheap and a nicer, more hospitible touch, but I guess soap is too expensive? The only other thing that would make it a 5 star vs a 4 star is that it would be really great to have a hot tub on the deck so that you could watch the ocean and take a hot tubber, but that is optional and would not prevent us from visiting again. :) Old St. Augustine is a short 4 mile drive to the north and there are plenty of places to eat and shop."

  • PERFECT Beach House

"This home is immaculate! Perfect location just a short walk to the beach (less than a block.) There are several restaurants within walking distance, also. We ate a late lunch at Mango Mango and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A couple of our kids grabbed food from the Taco Stand and really enjoyed it. Our family stayed here while attending a beach wedding, and we were beyond pleased with the house. All the beds were comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with all high-end appliances (although I didn't get a chance to use the stove!) Each floor has a spacious balcony with seating, where the adults enjoyed sitting outside while the kids napped within earshot. Plenty of room to spread out for three couples with young children. Every single amenity is provided for indoor or outdoor use. Pool toys, beach toys, boogie boards, chairs, beach towels for the pool and beach. Plenty of room to park two cars in the garage, also! Pool area is nice; although I would consider it small for a large group if there are older kids. Our children were seven and younger, so pool size wasn't an issue. The pool was almost completely shaded by trees and house, so if you want to sunbathe you'll need to go to the beach. It was perfect for us, though! Plenty of pool toys and seating. The Owners were very responsive, answering questions via email within minutes. The property management company was AMAZING! We stopped on our way into town and were greeted by a cheerful smile. We asked if we could park at the house while we went to the beach until check in time and were pleasantly surprised when the home was ready. Totally unexpected; and we were so appreciative. We completely enjoyed our stay and hope to stay again in this beautiful home!"

  • Great location very friendly neighbrhood

"The condo was smaller than expected. While there are technically 2 bedrooms the second bedroom is a small arkwardly laid out configuration with little hope for privacy. Flooring, blinds, kitchen appliances are old. The sliders are rusted and hard to open especially the bedroom. It was described as a prime unit but should be considered a basic unit. If this had been the category my expectations would have been lower. Having said this we had a great time for the month of February due in most part to weather and proximity of the beach."

  • Dreamy beachfront condo vacation

"Everything as pictured. We entered a beautifully decorated 2 floor condo with large windows and sliding glass doors showcasing the beautiful beach views. There is a balcony off dining/living room and also on 3rd floor master bedroom. (condo is on the the 2nd/3rd floor levels). Condo was spacious, well appointed and very clean. Management also thoughtfully labeled many of the switches and provided helpful information. We enjoyed being on the area of St. Augustine beach without the cars/trucks on beach. Instead very close walking distance to Anastasia State Park. In front of us and along the beach, there was roped off turtle nesting areas. The beach is wide, white sand beach with balmy water that time of year (June). We saw dolphins a few times. Its about a 10-15 minute drive to historic St. Augustine. There are good restaurants right in walking distance to condo. The management thoughtfully provided different brochures on sites, activities and dining for us 1st time visitors to the area. We plan on returning again and highly recommend this lovely, well located condo with those stunning views."
