  • We had the most incredible time.

"This house of perfect for larger groups. We took a couples trip with 5 couples. This house was so spacious that none of us felt like we were on top of each other. The HUGE deck was perfect for us to gather. This is a great fun funky older house just steps away from the beach. We can not wait to be able to come back someday!! Thanks again to our wonderful hosts!!"

  • PERFECT RENTAL HOUSE-NEW WELL KEPT AND CLEAN

"We stayed a month in the Buttercup House and enjoyed every day. At was clean, modern and new. We were very comfortable in this spacious house. The house is only a very short walk to the beach and to many good restaurants. It is only a short drive to historical St.Augustine. So much to see and do there. We enjoyed our walk to the pier on Wednesday mornings where there were market vendors which had fresh fruits and vegetables, and also craft vendors. Very quiet neighborhood. The screened in porch was a great place to sit and read and still enjoy the weather. Sunshine Realty who we booked this house through, were great in answering concerns or questions we had. We look forward to renting this house again in the future. Thank you to the owner for upgrading the cable for our stay. It made our stay even more enjoyable."

  • Very Nice Beach Cottage

"We arrived just before Christmas 2016. Great location, right on the beach, short walk to the shoreline, great view. We loved the atmosphere, very quaint and large wooden deck and screened in patio were nice touches. Older property, so the bathrooms are very tiny, in fact had to sit almost sideways on the north side bathroom and had to remove the roll of toilet paper to be somewhat "comfortable." The other bathroom is a tiny bit larger, but not much. Showers, no tubs. Everything worked ok, just dated appliances and such, but they work. Nice feel to the living area and the TV gets many good cable channels. Lots of very cool tortoises that live around the dunes, great fun looking at them :) Overall a very nice stay. Just a couple of things that could make it better: If you don't have a daily cleaning service, you should leave enough towels for four or five people. One set for each is not enough if staying for a week or so since there is no washer or dryer in the cottage. We had black ants in the kitchen and the bathrooms. Not overrun, but they were scouting. In damp areas, I feel you need to treat for pests monthly, so it needs a treatment, now. There were old asphalt shingles strewn about the grassy areas in front and the front circle driveway. We realize the hurricane caused it, but time to pick it up and throw the shingles in the garbage. The deck had a persistent wasp trying to make a nest under it, etc. The decking and railing, etc. are old, so in time, it will rot through and become a step hazard. At some point, it would be good to have the railing replaced to avoid splinters and possible breakage from normal use. It was OK for us, so not urgent, but should be addressed. There was also only one roll of toilet paper for each bathroom. Not enough for 5 or 6 people for a week. We realize we have to buy stuff to cook and basic stuff, but in the hotel industry, the hotel or rental should provide the toilet paper. One small bar of soap, no shampoo or anything for the bathrooms, so it is bare bones. Providing it would be cheap and a nicer, more hospitible touch, but I guess soap is too expensive? The only other thing that would make it a 5 star vs a 4 star is that it would be really great to have a hot tub on the deck so that you could watch the ocean and take a hot tubber, but that is optional and would not prevent us from visiting again. :) Old St. Augustine is a short 4 mile drive to the north and there are plenty of places to eat and shop."
