  • great location, great beach house

"We tacked on two nights at this beach property after a busy family wedding weekend. This more than met our expectations for a relaxing, low stress stay. The house is right on the beach...step off the beautiful deck, cross the back yard, and you are there! We enjoyed walks on the beach, looking for shells and shark's teeth, and just listening to the ocean. We enjoyed the beautiful sunrise, and the stars at night were amazing. Very clean and it was easy to feel at home. There is a Publix within 5 minutes for stocking up on grocery needs, and you are very close to St. Augustine for restaurants and shopping. We would definitely stay at this property again, and hopefully for more than just two nights. The owners were easy to contact and always responsive. Highly recommend!!"

  • Delightful house, great location & friendly owner

"A doggy-welcoming house, although we didn't have dogs. We arrived just after Hurricane Matthew..... would the house still be habitable? 'Yes', said the owner when she was able to go back into the evacuated area, 'electricity just back on and water will be by the time you arrive in 3 days!!!' Thank goodness for that, for we should not have wanted to miss this most delightful of places. The situation between the intra-coastal and the ocean means easy access to both areas of water, and nice shady walks around the local small roads. So many houses around here were flooded (as the sea rose, from the inland direction), or were undermined by the crashing waves on the coastal side. Hurricane Matthew also wreaked havoc in St Augustine old town itself. The only effects remaining that affected our stay was the lack of wifi, and many parks and some attractions were shut (but you never knew until you got there as there was no wifi!). That said, we had a fantastic stay. So much to do locally, as well as the beach. We spent a lot of time on the balcony, so never used the other sitting-out areas. Although most of the ground floor is the unused double-garage, this is a very spacious house indeed. Thoroughly recommended. I just wish I could share my photos with you, because they show so much more than we can write. Owners Direct.... what about it? When will reviews allow photos to be added?"
