  • Paradise!

"We loved this condo! It is renovated beautifully. Steps from the pool outside the patio. A very short walk to the beach. We really appreciated the beach toys and wagon in the garage for the kids. The neighbors were wonderful! Plenty of dishes, pots and pans, beach towels, the washer and dryer in the garage was great. Can't say enough great things about this condo. We plan to rebook for next summer!"

  • Clean and more up-to-date than some

"We enjoyed staying in this condo. Our family rented (3) other rooms at Island South and I believe this one was one of the more up-to-date ones. The living room was nice and roomy and the WIFI worked great. One of my favorite parts is the very spacious balcony area. The balcony area is much larger than most condos we have stayed at. Although Island South is a smaller property it was very enjoyable and I never felt like the pool area was packed (and we even stayed the week of the 4th of July). Parking wasn't ever a problem even during this busy time of year. There is one parking spot with the condo number assigned to it and if you had more than one car there was plenty of guest parking. If you are pulling a boat there is grassy public parking along the small side street at the enterance of the condo. We had no theft issues (very quiet area). Since this room is on the 2nd floor, the fact that there are steps on the front and the back of the building made it more convenient. We loved the short distance between the pool and the beach. There is a boardwalk to the beach but it isn't as long as other places we have stayed at St. Aug. there is no key entry needed to get on and off the beach which is NICE. Also there are no steps to get on and off the boardwalk, it is just ramps, which makes it very convenient when you have small children. The only con we noticed as far as condo layout is that you have to go down the steps and back up the steps to other condos in the building (unless your family is directly neighboring you). For example, if you have family on the 3rd floor, not all 3rd floor rooms are connected. You may have to go down the steps and back up the steps in a different section. Just to be clear, since I read the description wrong, this room has a King size bed in one room (w/ a flat screen tv), (2) twins in the other room (w/ an older style tv), and a fold out bed in the couch in the living room."

  • Superb Getaway!

"I arranged this stay for my son's bachelor weekend. There were 7 of us and the house could have easily accommodated more. In our advance planning, we had scheduled a day-long fishing trip and another day at the beach. Aside from the fishing trip, we pretty much kept to the house. I say this because the house was so comfortably equipped that, along with its spaciousness, the pool and the view of the river, there was absolutely no need to go anywhere else. It was quite obvious that Rhett, the owner, has done this many times. Checking in was flawless and a very nice gift bowl of fresh fruit, wine, etc. awaited us inside. We did a bit of cooking and grilling and like our accessories. We lacked for nothing in this regard and the kitchen was amply equipped. The pool-side grill was as big as a full-sized Webber Summit and the 6-burner gas range and oven was quite nice. There was also a full spice rack. The property was unbelievably equipped. There were three full size refrigerator/freezers (one in the kitchen and two in the garage), three waist-high refrigerators (two in the pantry and one pool-side), three dish-washers, board games, backgammon sets, feeding bowls for pets, etc. The bathrooms were amply supplied with wash cloths, towels, hand-soap, body wash, shampoo, etc. As an ex-submariner, it was nice to see the attention to detail. I noticed a previous review indicated that it was a bit of a trek to the nearest grocery store. I have family in the area and knew the closest store was about 20-30 minutes. Knowing that in advance, we planned ahead and picked up supplies on our way in. All-in-all, we had an incredible stay. Considering how large and well-appointed the house is, this would be a great place to come for a week-long family retreat. I found out during our fishing trip that the trout and flounder fishing available from our dock was excellent. Alas, we had no days left at that point. Final comment . . . Bravo Zulu to Rhett for providing well-appointed, excellent accommodations."

  • Great Visit!

"Enjoyed the condo very much. It was comfortable and cool. A little to far from the beach, but close to heated pool! There was a few maintenance issues. Master bedroom sink stops up, screen on porch was out, light bulb in dinning room out, but everything was clean and neat! Need directions to get in gate and computer hook up."
