  • A true gem and very special place

"This home on the Florida coast was an amazing getaway. I truly cannot say enough about our vacation on this beach, in this house. I will say the house layout was different than I anticipated, felt more like a very large beach cottage - the kitchen and living space were combined into a massive room. The first floor has 3 bedrooms (no tvs) and 1 shared bathroom, the upstairs was a master suite with a tv and bath. This actually worked perfectly for our family needs. We didn't really use the downstairs game room, the kids were a bit too young to want the separation from us - but it was convenient for the little ones to shower off the sandy beach in that bathroom in the evenings. Our family consisted of 5 adults and 2 children - aged 5 & 7. The beach was amazing. We were there in early August, plenty of heat and sunshine, and yet the beach was quiet and private. A few neighbors occasionally passed by, but truly, it felt wonderfully private. Plenty of opportunities to be alone with your thoughts as you wander the shore. It reminded me a lot of the Carolina beaches, with the lovely tides and smooth sands. The house was one of the nicest ones on this portion of the beach, and has had recent updates which made it fresh and clean. The deck on this house is the real selling point. Beautifully appointed, with a big dining table for evening dinners overlooking the ocean and plenty of daytime seating. We couldn't get enough of it. Plenty of sea turtle nests (we had the pleasure/worry of watching some baby turtles emerge - though some had come out during the daytime which was a worry as the heat/sun is too much for the babies. A few didn't make it. The neighbors were knowledgeable and attentive - we had the authorities called in to look after the confused nest and saved those we could.) But as you can see, a once in a lifetime experience. The area has plenty of local restaurants to try out and St. Augustine was adorable, it was only about 10-15 minutes to get anywhere you needed (groceries, dining, St. Augustine). We even took a day trip out to the Kennedy Space Center - an absolute MUST. Truly, if you are looking for a family beach vacation spot that will offer privacy and quiet, but have access to the fun of restaurants and activities, this is the house and the spot you are looking for. Every one of our family members (even the kiddos) have expressed the desire to return."

  • Great Getaway

"Much has been said in the previous reviews, so in short it was a great experience - location was fantastic, house clean and cozy. Mary & Rich have been great to deal with, and I am looking forward to renting from them in the future."

  • Wonderful experience at a great location!

"Strongly recommend staying here! We stayed over Labor Day Weekend 2016, and had 3 families with young children (ages 12-1). Every aspect of our stay was exceptional. Terry Clark was great to work with - even responding to a couple requests during our stay with timely and effective service. Much better than dealing with an impersonal beach rental management company. The condo itself was great and exceeded our expectations. Everything you could want in a beach vacation was available either in the condo or in the garage storage area - the only things we brought were consumables (food, drinks, etc.) and our clothes. We spent mornings and early afternoon at the beach and had it mostly to ourselves. The beach is accessible and fun for all ages - the young kids played in the sand and the surf, and the older kids and adults went a little deeper for boogie boarding. Flagler Beach's central "downtown" is ~2.5 miles to the south - an easy drive along A1A, or you can ride bikes on the beach (provided with the beach toys and chairs in the garage storage). If the weather turns or you get tired of the beach, the movie room is a comfortable retreat; you can play a game (many are available) in the spacious family room or on the balcony; or you can watch football in the bar off the family room. I can't say enough about this place - we have done a few beach vacations, and this experience was by far our favorite."
