  • Great house! Great location!

"My family and I could not have been happier with our decision to rent this house for a week this summer. The house itself is beautiful. It is spacious, well-decorated and a pleasure to live in. It has a definite beach cottage vibe - hardwood floors, wood paneling on the walls, big wooden deck to enjoy the ocean view. It is not a modern luxury retreat with marble and glass walls and chrome, so if that's your thing then keep searching. We like the casual cottage look and feel. But let me be clear - the house was perfectly clean and so well-maintained. Wifi worked perfectly. The beds are comfortable and the bedrooms are spacious enough for two people comfortably, not like some rentals where they convert a spare closet and try to call it a bedroom. The master has a King bed. The other two bedrooms have a queen and a twin bed. There is plenty of closet space. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything you would need to cook. I almost forgot to mention the outdoor shower! That is an absolute delight after sand and surf. The location is fantastic. The house is located on a small road that runs along the coast, just across the street from the beach-front homes. But it isn't the main drag of the town with speeding cars and lights. It is indeed a very quiet street. You can look out the window and see the ocean, with an even better view from the master bedroom balcony. Access to the beach itself is so close and easy. There is a wooden walkway just two houses down to the right that takes you straight to the beach. It really is just a minute or so walk to the walkway, and then one more minute along the walkway and down the stairs to the beach. It was close enough and safe enough that the kids could walk back and forth on their own, even at night. This area is single family homes so the beach only has a few people on it at any given time (there is a lifeguard beach about 200 yards down if that makes you more comfortable). The ocean was clear and pale green. The sand was pure white powder. 30A is a nice little community. There are quaint small homes mingling with some giant modern homes. Restaurants and shops are nearby (some close enough to walk/bike, some by car). Just a couple miles away is a grocery and all the stores you would ever need. All in all, we loved it. The owner is very responsive and clearly takes the time to make this a great vacation spot. I would highly recommend and would rent there again in a heartbeat."

  • Perfect Family Vacation!

"Our large family (which included grandkids from the age of 5-25) really enjoyed our week long vacation at Redfish. The VIEW!!! WOW!!! It was so stunning, I got out of bed at dawn almost every morning to see the sunrise... on vacation! The private beach area in front of the house is a RARE commodity for the busy, busy area of 30A Florida. I know most people love all the restaurants, shopping, biking, etc. that are nearby. And those are great and very convenient. BUT, I never wanted to leave the house and beach. Personally, I wanted to unwind and this was the PERFECT place. Hustle and bustle is nearby in Seaside / Watercolor / Rosemary and even the areas of Sandestin (outlet stores, etc.) But I prefer the solitude that Redfish offered. My mother has a hard time walking but she felt like she was on the beach just by being able to sit on the fantastic back deck. Sunsets were out of this world. I think I took 100 pictures of it because it was more and more unbelievable each evening. The beach is RIGHT there. My young daughter and I took beach strolls in the morning together by just walking down the convenient stairs right in front of the house. It was nothing to make a quick trip back to the house if you forgot something or to grab a bite to eat at lunchtime. My large family enjoyed the togetherness. We cooked almost every meal and the kitchen was great. As the cook several meals, I really enjoyed being a part of everyone in the large open kitchen / great room and even the multi-leveled open areas. You never felt slighted, even if you were the one cooking because you were with everyone in the house and you also had the stunning view of the ocean right out the spanse of large windows. Beautiful location. The rooms were comfy and had plenty of sleeping areas to accommodate our large crowd. As a lifelong 30A Beachgoer, I can testify that this place is a true GEM!!! There are many places to stay in this area but if you want to be ON THE BEACH and enjoy the beauty of the Gulf, this home is perfect. Thank you, Redfish for a wonderful vacation!!!"

  • Best of Both Worlds

"This is a lovely, cozy home steps away from the sugar soft sand with unobstructed views of the ocean and horizon. The home is well-equipped, comfortable, and includes some unique ocean-themed decorations, like a carved wooden figurehead overlooking the living area. We loved it! Our family visit began on the Sunday before Labor Day and continued through the next week. The first two days we enjoyed intermingling with the many others who came to enjoy the last few days of the summer season on the beach. It was a vibrant scene of tanned bodies of all makes and sizes, colorful umbrellas, kids building sand castles and people strolling the beach, dipping in and out of the waves. On Tuesday morning, with others returning to work and school, we found a much quieter beach scene. We dropped into a more relaxed mode as sand, sea, and sky became the focus. We spent hours sitting on the expansive deck under the shading screen overlooking this view, reading, watching sea birds soar, and pointing out the occasional boat making its way slowly across the horizon. When we roused ourselves for food or more activity, we found many good options very close by. We drove to Seaside to dine and shop, had a fun time at Kahuna's Water Park in Destin, and checked out the Silver Sands Premium Outlet Mall. While all was fun, the part of our vacation that will most remain with us is the relaxing view from the perch of this seaside home."
