  • RIGHT ON THE BEACH!! Clean, but needs TLC

"First the location is right on the beach, very close to the water, and so beautiful! This house is right next to a public beach access, and the beach was pretty crowded every day. We had to get out early to set our tent up in front of the house, or others would set up right in front of the house. We had four adults and three children staying in the house, and had 4 other people that were at the house most of the time. It was a very clean house, and the beds were very comfortable. As the previous reviewer stated, one King is actually two twin beds pushed together with a foam top, but it was still comfy. The layout is interesting, you can tell the house has been added on to. It’s a pretty old house, 70's décor, and could use some upgrading. The pink bathroom has very short ceiling in the shower, a tall person in my group had trouble showering in it. There are also no outlets in the pink bathroom to use a dryer, curling iron, etc. We only went out to eat one time, and cooked all of our meals at the house. The kitchen was functional for the most part, the oven and microwave could stand to be upgraded. The oven had a tendency to smoke easily. There were sufficient plates, bowls, napkins and silverware, but not a lot of cooking dishes. We could never find a cookie sheet, scissors, pot holders or a bigger frying pan. There was one medium sized one, but not a larger one for making bacon or making pancakes. The measuring cups didn’t have all the cups either. The can opener was also very difficult to use. I agree with other reviewers, the living space was small and hard to get more than 5 or 6 people in there to watch TV. We had a tropical storm day and it rained all day so stayed inside most of the day. The living space off the kitchen seems wasted as there is no TV, just a couch there. Overall the house worked, it was clean and the beds were comfortable to sleep in. I think some upgrades to appliances and such would be a bonus to this house. It is very close to the beach, and our family had an amazing time! It was our first time to Santa Rosa Beach, and I would highly recommend this beach to any family. The sand is beautiful white, and when there is no tropical storm, the water is crystal clear. The kids loved snorkeling in the crystal clear water!"

  • Loved My Stay

"This was the best family vacay in forever. This property made it easy even for our family members that have limited mobility. The golf cart was a great amenity that we had as well. I will be recommending this property to my friends for sure. This property was also great due to the fact that we could all be together or we could separate if we wanted to. Definitely plenty of space."

  • Wonderful family vacation home

"My large family consisting of my 3 adult kids and their spouses, 3 kids under 6 and 2 infants, an elderly dog and myself stayed at this wonderful beach house. The layout of the house was great, with decks on every level off each bedroom, and a large, breezy porch overlooking the state park and ocean off the main living area. The kitchen was large, with great appliances and was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook for this large group. The neighborhood was lovely, quiet and away from the 30A summer crowds, but very close to grocery stores, Starbucks and any kind of restaurant you could want. The large community pool was right next door and we used it frequently. It was never crowded and they even let us have a little birthday party there for my granddaughter. The only negative was the fact that you had to get in your car to get to the beach. It was not far away and it was not crowded, but you still had to drive or bike there (2 bikes are at the house for guests' use, which is awesome). Considering all of my "must haves", direct beach access was at the bottom of my list and the lack of it definitely did not detract from our complete enjoyment of the house. And Deb was an absolute joy to work with. She gave me her cellphone number and was very responsive whenever I had questions. I highly recommend this vacation rental!"

  • A Special Christmas

"Our family had a loss this past year and decided we needed to do something really different for Christmas this year. At first I was nervous to do something so different as to have Christmas at the beach! Our family has never been to this area before so we didn't know what to expect. The minute we walked into About Time we had a huge smile on our face! It was even more beautiful than the pictures! We walked straight out to the balcony and where totally blown away by the ocean crashing right under us! We were breathless! We just sat on the portch and took in the view. There were enough bedrooms and beds for our family which consisted of two sisters, a mother/daughter combo, a elderly mother-in-law and my husband and I. We needed a lot of room for all the women to have their own spaces - and we did! Our mother-in-law had a room on the main level so she didn't have to climb stairs too much which was nice! I was also worried about having a kitchen to cook holiday meals and the kitchen had almost everything (in the way of cooking utensils, pots and pans) that we needed. I should have gotten containers for left overs at the store - that was the only challenge we had the whole week! Talk about perfect!! There were even beautiful serving dishes. Christmas morning was spent on the beach watching the sunrise - we will never forget that - and Christmas night we found a Christmas tree set up on the beach - really cool! We even had neighbors over for games - what a nice community! Santa Claus showed up paddleboarding on Oyster Lake - that was another cool surprise - the view of Oyster Lake across the street! (and Santa!) We really really enjoyed the DVD about coastal lakes - thank you! We had no idea this area had so many beautiful nautral features. We were torn between exploring the area and just wanting to stay 'home' and enjoy it and the beach! I did a little decorating for Christmas and having the fireplace was great! We had a place to 'hang' our stockings and we put lights on the balcony - the house looked great for Christmas! The house was fully stocked with games and movies - I had brought some and didn't need to! So next time we will know! And there will be a next time! We have fallen in love with About Time and the area. 30A is truly a special place and About Time is the place to stay! What could have been a sad and difficult Christmas turned out to be very special and one we will never forget!"
