"Never visited this part of Florida, but friends promised we would like it. Not disappointed, despite Eastern rain and cold at the start of Spring Break. Relaxation, rest and comfort prevailed at Derby Dunes.
Our party: two adults and five children. Mother and 3 children - boys 15 and 12, daughter, 10. Father and two boys, 12 and 8. Accommodations as such: Dad: downstairs bedroom next to front door on Bridgetown Avenue. Shower bathroom opposite bedroom. Comfortable queen bed, small flat screen TV on shelf, closet. HVAC located behind a door in the room, but no noise. My 8 year old boy bunked here with me instead of the 3rd floor. Nightstands each side of the bed, useful for my CPAP device.
2nd floor: 3 bedrooms with queen sized beds. Mom and daughter in one, left, top of stairs has a nice bathroom with spa tub. Opposite this bedroom, across common space with desk, chair, and lamp under stairs to 3rd floor: two bedrooms with private baths. Mom's sons in room on right, my son in room on left. Wall mounted, flat screen TVs in both rooms. These rooms have doors opening to a sun porch with loungers over the driveway.
3rd floor: 4 twin beds, armoire with small flat screen, slanted ceiling toy room with games, toys, and TV equipped with XBox 360 and Guitar Hero.
Main floor: living room has large, wall mounted, flat screen TV opposite white, sectional sofa with coffee table and matching armchair. Two large, matching, wicker armchairs each side of the TV. Brought our own XBox and connected to the TV. Kids moved large chairs in front of the TV and played XBox NBA. Better than playing upstairs. Living room doors lead to driveway on Johnstown Lane (practically an alley) which we used 99.9% of the time as primary access to the house. Door code instead of keys. Garbage can at end of driveway.
Kitchen is spacious, nice dinner ware, silverware, pots and pans, cooking utensils, knives. Nice refrigerator. Coffee maker (filters were in drawer below after we got filters there), but no bean grinder (brought our own). Eight seat dining table at base of stairs. Checked in early Saturday evening, dinner at Cowgirl Kitchen, then bought groceries at Publix on Sunday. Dishwasher gel soaps below kitchen sink. Washer and dryer on first floor. Gel soaps supplied!
Bring your own bicycles, or rent from Bamboo in the square. RB Farmer's Market Sunday morning is great! Nice "Cabana" swimming pool down the lane, around the corner. Other pool close to beach.
Invited Home - excellent!"
