  • Fishing Week

"My friend and I brought our kayaks down to fish the area. This has to be the most kayak conducive area I have ever been to. many places to launch from, good bait stores with people willing to help, and LOTS OF FISH. We caught more than enough trout, reds, flounder, and pompano to keep us fed plus some for the freezer. Even had a battle with a cobia in St Joe Bay but lost it at the boat. I absolutely loved being here. The owner is great to work with and keeps it all quite simple. If I decide to come back to fish again, I will certainly try to book this house. GREAT WEEK!!!!!"

  • Perfect views!

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home has perfect views from most rooms. Steps to the beach! There were a few issues (microwave did not work, dishwasher needed repair, and there was a flea problem), but we were assured those would be fixed. It rained one day, and the screened porch was perfect for a lazy day. It would be great if dish soap, kitchen towels, and dishwashing detergent were provided. I think the lack of these is why the dishes weren't very clean--it would be an easy thing to overlook in the pre arrival packet. The garage full of beach toys was a nice surprise. We utilized the fish cleaning station as the fish were biting constantly. Minutes to the state park. We would definitely stay again. You can't beat the location or views."

  • Wonderful Stay at Home By the Sea

"We have been visiting CSB since 2005 and have stayed at many homes including another home in the Barefoot Trace neighborhood, some better then others and this one definitely was one of the better ones . The area is very quiet without a ton of houses nearby so the beach isn't very crowded. It is also located close to Scallop Cove and The Trading Post if you need to pick something up from the store but I suggest stopping in Port St. Joe at Piggly Wiggly for groceries before heading to the Cape. The walk to the beach is not that far and the owners provide lots of extras for you to use. Their housekeeper does a fantastic job and the house was very clean. We had 5 staying and there was plenty of room for all of us. My teenager slept on the fold out couch and my 10yr old daughter slept on the rollaway bed neither had a complaint about them. My husband and I stayed in the master bedroom and the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very nice with a nice jet tub and shower. My MIL stayed in the other room and she also said her bed was very comfortable. They have done a lot of upgrades in the home and I was very pleased with the nice appliances in the kitchen. The owner is very nice and will give you lots of great info if this is your first time staying on the Cape. I recommend Shoobies for soft serve ice cream or Italian ice and Trading Post for ice cream in many flavors! Indian Pass Raw bar for oysters or shrimp or if you want to travel into Apalachicola Up the Creek is a great place to eat. Joe Mama's Pizza in Port St. Joe is the best pizza place if you want a break from seafood while there. I would definitely recommend Home By the Sea to friends and plan on staying here again on our next trip to our favorite place in the sand!"

  • Shorebird 2016

"We just finished a two week stay at Shorebird. We loved it! The deck was amazing for dolphin watching and since it has a pet gate, our dog was able to be out there and have a little freedom. It was a spacious home and the furniture did not feel cramped into too tight spaces."
