  • Great place to get completely away from everything and everybody

"This was our third season at Hidden Treasure and it just keeps getting better every year. The owner really connects with her guests and goes out of the way to make folks feel at home. Since we've been visiting Hidden Treasure the property has seen some nice improvements including new beds, kitchen remodel, screened porch, and, this year, fresh paint. The house is very clean, well-maintained and equipped. The setting is very private and dog friendly. Three very private bedrooms, two sofa beds, two full baths and and an extra shower means there is plenty of room for everyone. We love it, and we're going back in 2017!"

  • Wonderful Vacation Home

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Great Escape. The screened in porch was one of our favorite amenities. We ate every meal on the porch! The little outside porch was perfect for watching the sunset every evening. I highly recommend Great Escape!!"

  • Our Stay June 4 - 11 2016

"The property was as advertised and we enjoyed our stay. We did have an issue with the A/C upon arrival but when I called to report the problem it was promptly fixed and we were cool all week. Thanks Richard. The house was clean and well equipped for our weeks stay. We had plenty of room for our car and truck and boat. We enjoyed being close to the State Park and we used the bay access point to launch our kayaks. If you like to fish which is the main reason for our trip it is set up good for fish cleaning and boat parking. My four star rating is not an indication that something was wrong or could have been better but just that this is not a 5 star luxury suite with pool and game room and all kind of amenities and it is not advertised as such. If you are looking for that you will have to look else where but if you are looking for a nice house for 2 - 4 guess at a reasonable price you have found your house. I would definitely stay here again. Also the Trading post which is about 2.5 miles away is nicely stocked if you forgot something. We also enjoyed eating at the Sand-bucket which is on 30E and also back in Port St Joe on Reeds Street at Joe Mama's Pizza. Thanks allowing us the use of your home. Thanks Again Chris"

  • Awesome family beach vacation

"We usually travel to Outer Banks, NC with four families of four. We like a large beach house with pool, hot tub, all master suites and a room for the kids. We wanted to shorten the drive from Kentucky to the beach this year, so we looked for a house in the Florida panhandle. We did not want condos. It was really hard to find a house in this area that would fit all ours needs in our budget. We finally found Heavenly Palms. It did not have a hot tub or all master suites for each couple, but it was super close to the beach and in a more secluded area away from all the touristy destinations like Panama City and Destin which totally made up for no hot tub and only two master suites. The pool was safely gated which was great for all our young kids. We spent way more time at the beach than we ever have on any of our OBX vacations. Mostly because it was so close- literally one minute walk across the street to the beach. You can see the beach from the front porches. I spent more time out on the screened in front porch than inside or at the pool. Hearing the ocean and smelling the ocean while drinking morning coffee, eating lunch and dinner as well as having an evening cocktail out on the screened in porch was very relaxing. Because Cape San Blas is not as populated like Destin, etc..... the night sky is so very bright with stars and the beautiful bright moon. The area is perfect. Lots of great restaurants in Port St Joe- a quaint little town. The people in this town as some of the nicest and friendliest I have ever experienced on vacation. Cape San Blas has horse back riding on the beach and a long bike path. The beaches are beautiful. The St Joseph State Park beach is a MUST. Absolutely gorgeous. Water was so clear I could see my feet even when I was chest deep in the water. (The beach is beautiful at the house, but the water isn't that clear.) We also enjoyed small shops in Apalachicola and the beautiful bay and its delicious Oysters at Boss Oyster. We took at quick trip to St George Island as well. The house is conveniently located centrally to Cape San Blas, Port St Joe and about 30 minutes to Apalachicola and 40 minutes to St George. More about the house- clean, quaint, and lots of windows to let in natural light. It could use a bit of updating- particularly in the kitchen. A new stove is in order, but it worked and we cooked a lot. We didn't really miss the hot tub at all as the Florida June summer is pretty hot anyways. Overall, great house!"
