  • Very Very Great Getaway...

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We absolutely loved the home/property and its amenities. The HVAC unit on the top floor was not cooling when we arrived but the rental manager got the AC guy onsite asap and he got us cool quick. Wonderful home for an extended stay. It will make you feel like it is your own, and you will not want to leave. The views are so lovely and you are protected from mosquitoes by the lovely screened-in balconies. Jeanne has a gem."

  • Awesome family beach vacation

"We usually travel to Outer Banks, NC with four families of four. We like a large beach house with pool, hot tub, all master suites and a room for the kids. We wanted to shorten the drive from Kentucky to the beach this year, so we looked for a house in the Florida panhandle. We did not want condos. It was really hard to find a house in this area that would fit all ours needs in our budget. We finally found Heavenly Palms. It did not have a hot tub or all master suites for each couple, but it was super close to the beach and in a more secluded area away from all the touristy destinations like Panama City and Destin which totally made up for no hot tub and only two master suites. The pool was safely gated which was great for all our young kids. We spent way more time at the beach than we ever have on any of our OBX vacations. Mostly because it was so close- literally one minute walk across the street to the beach. You can see the beach from the front porches. I spent more time out on the screened in front porch than inside or at the pool. Hearing the ocean and smelling the ocean while drinking morning coffee, eating lunch and dinner as well as having an evening cocktail out on the screened in porch was very relaxing. Because Cape San Blas is not as populated like Destin, etc..... the night sky is so very bright with stars and the beautiful bright moon. The area is perfect. Lots of great restaurants in Port St Joe- a quaint little town. The people in this town as some of the nicest and friendliest I have ever experienced on vacation. Cape San Blas has horse back riding on the beach and a long bike path. The beaches are beautiful. The St Joseph State Park beach is a MUST. Absolutely gorgeous. Water was so clear I could see my feet even when I was chest deep in the water. (The beach is beautiful at the house, but the water isn't that clear.) We also enjoyed small shops in Apalachicola and the beautiful bay and its delicious Oysters at Boss Oyster. We took at quick trip to St George Island as well. The house is conveniently located centrally to Cape San Blas, Port St Joe and about 30 minutes to Apalachicola and 40 minutes to St George. More about the house- clean, quaint, and lots of windows to let in natural light. It could use a bit of updating- particularly in the kitchen. A new stove is in order, but it worked and we cooked a lot. We didn't really miss the hot tub at all as the Florida June summer is pretty hot anyways. Overall, great house!"

  • Great Location!

"Great place to stay. I've stayed in Port St Joe several times, first time in this rental. Cute and pet friendly. Its far enough away from the road where you donlt hear traffic and donlt have to worry with your dog running to it either. Not a bad walk to the beach. We drove down to the park and drove our truck out on the beach. Will def stay again!"

  • Great pet friendly vacation spot!

"An earlier review (from 2012) derided the beach as "dirty with seaweed" problem. Not at all a thing anymore. Sand is white powder style, no seaweed was to be found. Now, she was right that you would not do any snorkeling, as the ocean there has large sandbars, so the water has silt in it from the waves crashing. The whole area, and most of the rentals, is/are dog friendly, I don't think I saw any non-dog owners at the beach. We were there during the week, and it was quite nearly a private beach. I think we ran into maybe 3 people each time we hit the beach. House is legitimately on the beach, with no houses in front or any such shenanigans. House is not luxurious, but the photos in the listing ring true. Grilling on the porch was made difficult by the constant ocean breezes, trying to blow the flames out. May have been the time of year. Anyhow, a great time for those who like pets and value privacy, vs. crowded beaches."
