  • "Toes in the water..... not a worry in the world..... Life is good today"

"First, I want to mention the good care and concern Mr. Neel showed from the very beginning of our rental process. He was there for us all the way. Alligator Point is a very special place. It was a gift to be on this Island, and a blessing to find these accommodations. Mr. Neel has been the owner of this cottage for a brief few months. In that time, much work has been put into this wonderful one floor cottage, and the update continues. What a lovely piece of property it is on! One thinks a beachfront home will be all sand and sun, but here you have tall pine trees, palms, hedgerows for privacy, and a view of the Gulf that takes your breath away. Sunrise and sunset are picture perfect, all part of relaxing on this nice sized lot. The back deck that looks to the water has ramps that help you on the way to the sea and sand. This is a good plus for older renters with mobility problems, which we are. One of possibly only two gazebos on the island is on this property. It is where I spent most of the week! Adirondeck chairs are there to kick back in while watching the pelicans, seabirds, and dolphins hunting for meals at water's edge. The inside of the cottage is comfortable, with all working appliances. The leather couches are very nice and comfy to sit in. We really enjoyed having our meals in the sun room looking out to the water each day. You can pull back the windows to let the sea breeze and smashing waves keep you in touch with why you came there in the first place. If there is inclement weather the covered double carport has seating and the grill is around the corner. Don't come here if you are looking for nightlife and a festival of people........... this is quiet, serene, and laid back. Bring your dogs too! It is a pup loving community. There are terrific fresh fish markets in Panacea, and we visited two restaurants, Angelo and Sons (rather disappointing from our standpoint), and Posey's which is a local mom and pop place with great seafood that has been around for years and years; we enjoyed that much more, as well as chatting with the locals. Remember.... bring your food in with you! Your closest grocery store is in Panacea.... not recommended, and an IGA in Carrabelle a little north on 98. We recommend this rental, and hope to be able to come back next year! Miss it already."

  • Relaxing week with family

"This was not our first trip to St. George Island, but was our first time at Buddy's Bungalow. We booked the stay and communicated with Pam, check-in was simple and effortless, the house was as advertised, the master suite is more of a loft and is accessed by stairs through the double twin bed room, it is open over to the bottom level living room so privacy is not 100% if that is a requirement, but it was set up perfectly for parents with children. There was a desktop computer on the main level for use. The kitchen was great, Keurig coffee maker, glass top stove, dishwasher, microwave, large refrigerator, plenty of coffee mugs, dishes, flatware, pots, and pans. We always travel with our favorite skillet, pot, knife, and spatula but what was available would have been more than adequate. High efficiency washing machine and dryer in the laundry room helped a lot, bring your own detergent. The pool was wonderful and maintained by company that checked on it multiple times during our stay. The yard and landscaping was well kept. Groceries on the island are available, the Piggly Wiggly express was very convenient and very well priced, Dollar General was a short drive across the bridge. We bought fresh seafood in Apalachicola and prepared it several nights, went to dinner the other. The golf cart was very nice for quick trips around the island, the tires on the bicycles did need airing but we had our own pump. We watched the sunrise almost every morning from the beach and then rode around to the end of the street to watch the sunset on the bay. The lot the house is on is surrounded by large trees that afford a very nice sense of privacy. Neighbors around the home are quiet and very pleasant. We brought our dogs with us, they also enjoyed walks on the beach, digging in the sand, and playing in the surf. Pam was kind enough to set out metal wire kennels for when we went out exploring. There was also a metal pooper scooper for yard clean up after your pets. Overall we had wonderful time, would recommend staying here, and are already planning when we can return next year! Thank you Pam!!"

  • Fantastic!

"The owner and property were both wonderful. Great house with everything needed for a 2.5 month stay. Short walk to the beach along with a pool in the backyard. Very nice deck to enjoy the beautiful starry nights and the sounds of the Gulf. Have already booked for next year!"
