  • Still a wonderful, homey place to stay right near the most peaceful beach I've ever visited

"First, let me say that Mexico Beach itself is a small, quaint town, and is a very peaceful place to take a vacation. My grandmother and I have been frequent visitors for over 20 years, and we particularly enjoy laying on the beach watching the sand crabs and the waves and watching the spectacular sunsets. If you want to stay in a place that's hoppin' with excitement, this is NOT it. But if you want a peaceful stay in a place that is close enough to excitement for several day trips (Panama City is only about a half hour away), Mexico Beach is the place. Though we've been to the area many times, this was only my family's second visit to Double Chillin'; we stayed once previously in 2012. We found the property just as comfortable, convenient, and well kept as on our last stay. If you're looking for posh or luxurious, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for a home away from home for a week or two, with all the things you need to be comfortable (sheets and blankets, pots and pans, dishes, towels, etc.), and all just a few blocks from a lovely beach - look no farther. We were settled in with groceries purchased from Port St. Joe's Piggly Wiggly the first evening, and ready to just kick back and enjoy our stay. I enjoy the little quirks of the rental: the beach-themed wall hangings, books and magazines scattered throughout, family games and movies in the living room, and the pool table, which my daughter was old enough this visit to truly enjoy. Only 5 of us went: myself, my gran, my fiance, our daughter, and her best friend. We could easily have fit 2 or 3 more people without feeling crowded. The best part, in my opinion, is the large tub in the master bath (which does take some time to fill, but is worth the wait!), and the large screened front porch with table and chairs as well as comfy chairs and loveseat perfect for reading or chatting. We finished our trip off with a Sunday morning visit to a church service on the beach - not to be missed. I am not a churchy person, but the service was so natural, welcoming, and totally unique that I felt right at home. All in all an awesome stay. We will be back!"

  • Perfect Family Vacation

"Our family of four loved our stay here! Even the teenage boys. The accommodations were perfect for us! We spent most of our time at the beach which is just out the back door. The beach area was big enough to fly kites and set up a soccer match. The waves were perfect for boogie boarding and floating in the sun. The night walks on the beach were great, too. We found all sorts of shells, hermit crabs and even a sea turtle! Mexico Beach is a cute beach town that is not overtly commercial. LOVE IT! We definitely plan to return."

  • Great place to unwind!

"10-31-2016 Thank you so much for opening your beach cottage to guests. We have thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. We were looking for a quick, quiet get away and we found it in Mexico Beach. It is so beautiful. It was nice to have all the amenities of home. The bed in the master was most comfortable, we slept well and felt rested. The kitchen had all we needed to cook the meals we ate in. The gas grill was great, we enjoyed a steak one night. The screened sun porch was really nice and we could hear the ocean waves crashing against the beach from there. It was awesome that it was such a short walk down to the beach. The sunsets were amazing! God surely knows how to paint the sky!! We really loved it here, and hope to stay again sometime. Thanks so much. The Moran's"

  • Quaint and quiet

"We have been going to St. Joe for 14 years and stayed in many different homes and condos. Our favorite part of Frame with a view is the deck. Just steps from the beach and beautiful view. A fence wraps the deck, with an out door shower and colorful chairs. It is a wonderful out door living spaces. We come to St. Joe so we can bring our two dogs. This house was just perfect for them. The inside is new, fresh and modern . It advertises two bedrooms . It is one bedroom and a small loft. great for kids. The only draw back is the small shower , bedroom space and storage. I would not recommend for older couples because the stairs might be hard to manage. Overall, we had a great week and a relaxing trip. Thank you for a great rental."
