  • Great Place and Great Vacation!

"Mrs. Susan we had a great time and loved you place in Mexico Beach. It was a short stay but just what we needed for a quick get away. We will most definitely be back when we can stay longer. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants a nice place to stay. Mrs. Susan was very easy to work with, quick to respond, and renting from her was a breeze."

  • Great vacation house

"We have just finished our third year of vacationing at WastinAway and continue to love the experience. We had six adults and six children. Mexico Beach is generally quiet and great for a family retreat. The house itself is spacious, allowing room for each person to have quiet time if that is what they want. We have experienced tropical storms two of the three years we were there and having that extra space has made those days bearable. Having an elevator was a deciding factor. Unlike the previous rater, we have never failed to get our deposit back. The site says this unit will sleep twelve people in five bedrooms which is a bit of a stretch unless you count sleeping on sofas."

  • Still a wonderful, homey place to stay right near the most peaceful beach I've ever visited

"First, let me say that Mexico Beach itself is a small, quaint town, and is a very peaceful place to take a vacation. My grandmother and I have been frequent visitors for over 20 years, and we particularly enjoy laying on the beach watching the sand crabs and the waves and watching the spectacular sunsets. If you want to stay in a place that's hoppin' with excitement, this is NOT it. But if you want a peaceful stay in a place that is close enough to excitement for several day trips (Panama City is only about a half hour away), Mexico Beach is the place. Though we've been to the area many times, this was only my family's second visit to Double Chillin'; we stayed once previously in 2012. We found the property just as comfortable, convenient, and well kept as on our last stay. If you're looking for posh or luxurious, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for a home away from home for a week or two, with all the things you need to be comfortable (sheets and blankets, pots and pans, dishes, towels, etc.), and all just a few blocks from a lovely beach - look no farther. We were settled in with groceries purchased from Port St. Joe's Piggly Wiggly the first evening, and ready to just kick back and enjoy our stay. I enjoy the little quirks of the rental: the beach-themed wall hangings, books and magazines scattered throughout, family games and movies in the living room, and the pool table, which my daughter was old enough this visit to truly enjoy. Only 5 of us went: myself, my gran, my fiance, our daughter, and her best friend. We could easily have fit 2 or 3 more people without feeling crowded. The best part, in my opinion, is the large tub in the master bath (which does take some time to fill, but is worth the wait!), and the large screened front porch with table and chairs as well as comfy chairs and loveseat perfect for reading or chatting. We finished our trip off with a Sunday morning visit to a church service on the beach - not to be missed. I am not a churchy person, but the service was so natural, welcoming, and totally unique that I felt right at home. All in all an awesome stay. We will be back!"

  • Great place!!

"We enjoyed our stay at Geri's beach house. It was very clean and had all the comforts of home. We were able to relax and spend quality family time together. We mainly cooked there and loved the water being only a short walk from the house. It is absolutely beautiful at night out on the beach! Our favorite thing was the screened in back porch. You can hear the waves from the porch!!!"
