  • Wonderful family vacation

"We have had the most amazing stay at this house. We live in Pensacola but had family coming in from Mississippi and Tennessee and wanted to treat them to the beach. Our family of 12 fit perfectly in this house. It is a short walk to the beach and it provided us loads of fun with the fuse ball table, ping pong table, bikes, games, and so much more. It is very spacious and has everything we need. The owner was so easy to deal with. We couldn't have asked for anything better!"

  • Location Can't Be Beat

"I cannot imagine any beach fanatic not loving the location of this condo. It is right on the bay and directly across the street from the public walkover to the gulf. It has three patios; the first is on the same level as the covered parking area and is literally on the sands of the bay; the second is on the same level as the living room / kitchen; the third is accessed from the master bedroom. All three patios have ample seating (picnic tables, Adirondack chairs, porch swings, etc), and we spent more hours on them than we could count over our two weeks in the condo. The ground floor condo also has a shower and hose area for rinsing off sand. Part of the patio areas are shaded all day; parts of them are sunny. The pool and clubhouse are directly next door - literally steps from the condo. We could go for a quick dip and then walk back over to our private patio to lounge instead of sitting at the pool with neighbors. The pool was busy some days, especially during the Blue Angels week, but it was never over full. We never had issues with noise even though several large parties used the clubhouse during the time we were there. Since this condo is right on the bay the sunsets are astounding. Also, the bay offers calm waters for when travelers need a break from the waves on the gulf side. Peg Leg Pete's is a 1/4 of a mile away and an easy walk .There are trolley stops both directions within easy walking distance. There is a Tom Thumb convenience store that is very well-stocked with minor grocery and beach items next door to Peg Leg Pete's. You do have to walk across the street to access the public beach walkover to the gulf, but the street was never hectic; it's not a dangerous walk at all, and it takes about three minutes to walk over to amazing, crystal-clear, emerald waters. The condo worked great - the AC, dishwasher, washer and dryer, plumbing, etc. It was all great. The condo is showing some wear. A good coat of paint and a few updates could prove beneficial. Also, the kitchen was a little disorganized. If you are a gourmet cook looking to prepare a high-class meal for a crowd, you might be disappointed. But this condo is not about gourmet kitchens and ultra modern, sleek furnishings. It's about sun and sand and a location that absolutely cannot be beat. If you love being outdoors on your beach vacation, then this is the perfect location. You will not regret those patios for one second."

  • October 2016... Our most enjoyable Fall Vacation yet... Think we've found our Go To destination

"Our family has vacationed in several areas around the Gulf of Mexico. This was hands down our most enjoyable Fall vacation in the Gulf. We were welcomed to Room 1609 of Tower 4 by a spectacular view of The Gulf of Mexico on the left and the Santa Rosa Bay on the right. The sunset views from this condo are amazing. We found the condo to be very clean, beautifully decorated, well furbished, and met all of our needs. The resort had everything we needed to enjoy the beautiful Fall Pensacola weather. We found all of the resort staff to be very polite and helpful. I would advise anyone planning a stay at the Portofino resort to take some time and study the adventure packages. They seem to be a good deal for those groups who like to play in the water. We enjoyed the ocean and Santa Rosa bay equally well. The Lifestyle Center was top notch. All of the pools and hot tubs were clean and relaxing. We found the fitness facility to be very well equipped with high quality machines and free weight stations. We did leave the resort on a couple of occasions. We enjoyed Fort Pickens (which is another great place to watch the sunset). We also enjoyed the Blue Angels Cruise where we saw several dolphins and received a spectacular view of a Blue Angels practice. As other reviewers have stated, the white sandy beaches were clean and beautiful. The Gulf water was an amazingly clear topaz blue. The condo owner, Iris, was very helpful and responsive. We often book our vacation destinations based on the weather. With a hurricane in the area, we booked very late. Iris made everything super easy for us; check-in was smooth and easy. The only thing remotely close to a negative was probably the funniest. On the day of our arrival, I got a little confused and missed the entrance to Portofino. We drove a few yards down the road and pulled into a sandy area beside the road. BIG MISTAKE!!! While in the sand, forward / reverse movements sunk us deeper into the sand, we were STUCK. Fortunately, I was able to push our car to freedom. Now, we joke about the fact that the first time my toes touched the Pensacola sand was to push our car out. Ultimately, we enjoyed our stay so much. We hope to return very soon and would gladly stay in Tower 4 Room 1609 again. Thank You Iris!!!"
