  • Best access to beach, beautiful sunrise & sunsets!!!

"We had a wonderful time & stay at Seaside Shelter!! This has got to be one of the best access to the beach & the view of the sunrise & sunsets were so beautiful!! This house has plenty of room, love the huge kitchen!! It didn't have 3 TV's in it, only 2!! Wish it was a bigger TV, but we didn't stay much in the house, due to beautiful weather & was out in the water!! We like how it is a corner lot with room for parking & parking the boat!! Very nice area!! Would def. recommend this place & will be back next year!! Thanks for letting us enjoy your place!!!"

  • Wonderful Stay at Home By the Sea

"We have been visiting CSB since 2005 and have stayed at many homes including another home in the Barefoot Trace neighborhood, some better then others and this one definitely was one of the better ones . The area is very quiet without a ton of houses nearby so the beach isn't very crowded. It is also located close to Scallop Cove and The Trading Post if you need to pick something up from the store but I suggest stopping in Port St. Joe at Piggly Wiggly for groceries before heading to the Cape. The walk to the beach is not that far and the owners provide lots of extras for you to use. Their housekeeper does a fantastic job and the house was very clean. We had 5 staying and there was plenty of room for all of us. My teenager slept on the fold out couch and my 10yr old daughter slept on the rollaway bed neither had a complaint about them. My husband and I stayed in the master bedroom and the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very nice with a nice jet tub and shower. My MIL stayed in the other room and she also said her bed was very comfortable. They have done a lot of upgrades in the home and I was very pleased with the nice appliances in the kitchen. The owner is very nice and will give you lots of great info if this is your first time staying on the Cape. I recommend Shoobies for soft serve ice cream or Italian ice and Trading Post for ice cream in many flavors! Indian Pass Raw bar for oysters or shrimp or if you want to travel into Apalachicola Up the Creek is a great place to eat. Joe Mama's Pizza in Port St. Joe is the best pizza place if you want a break from seafood while there. I would definitely recommend Home By the Sea to friends and plan on staying here again on our next trip to our favorite place in the sand!"

  • I want to wave you off, but...

"I am a native Floridian who has lived in Georgia for 26 years. I had never been to the "Forgotten Coast" before renting this house. The beach is pristine with sugar sand and clear water. During spring break week, when PCB and Destin were zoos, this area was quiet, uncrowded, and heavenly. The house itself was immaculate and when I did have an issue come up, Patrick responded very quickly. The 2nd floor master suite was roomy and beautifully decorated. I really felt like I was in an upscale hotel. The main floor living and kitchen areas are gorgeous, well-decorated, and extremely well supplied. 3 corkscrews? That's for me. (No wine glasses, so bring your own if you're that picky about your glass!) My teen daughters were very comfortable in the bedroom with the twins and private bath. It was nicely decorated and has very high ceilings which made it feel bigger. I thought this house was an incredible value for the money and the location was a fabulous surprise. We were able to poke around Port St. Joe and enjoy the little shops and restaurants and the marina. We went into Apalachicola and shopped and walked around. We checked out Mexico Beach and also made a day trip up to PCB, enjoying a free air show of F22 Raptors while driving through Tyndall AFB. It was great to arrive early in PCB before the party crowd got up! We visited Gulf World (awesome animal care) and ate at Pineapple Willy's then got out early enough to avoid the crazies. Seriously, don't hesitate to rent this place. It was fantastic!"

  • Ultimate Relaxation

"My husband and I, along with my daughter, her husband and their dog, spent a long Mother's Day weekend at Cape Palms. It was wonderful. The house is plenty spacious inside with two levels of wraparound porches — so we could be as together, or apart as we wanted. The beach is a short walk away and, after spending part of the day sunning and swimming, it was great to be able to return to the house and spend time floating around in the pool. The neighborhood is quiet — we felt like we had our own personal oasis in paradise. I have never felt so relaxed as I did lazing in the hammock on the porch, enjoying the sea breezes. There are plenty of rental places and restaurants up the road, and the charming town of Apalachicola is just a short drive away, but if quiet and relaxation are what you're looking for, this is the place."
