  • Amazing!!

"Amazing Thanksgiving! Best time ever, we have been coming to St. George Island for almost 20 years. This is our second stay at Fishfinder, it is the best house, best view, best weather, best owner. We watched sunrises, sunsets and shrimp boats coming into the Bob Sikes Cut. Had breakfast poolside, cooked seafood in the great outdoor kitchen area. So Great, thank you, Lee for sharing your house. Can't wait till next time!"

  • Yet Another Amazing Fall Break With Friends and Perfect Weather

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay yet again, and this was our second year in a row at this house in late September. Its hard really to find something negative to write about this house/property, but if I had to pick, I'd probably point out that the "new" fridge (different than last year) doesn't really cool very well or fast. Some of that may have been due to the traffic in/out with all the mouths we fed, and the ice maker seemed to maybe have some sediment in the water line so we just bagged it. That kept the 5th star away. And outside of the mosquitos that were just awful once you got off the beach, and this was true all over the island, the weather and water temp and overall experience was just fantastic - even the dolphins were excited to see us and put on several aerial displays while we were there. We came down this time with a extra family and the house easily supported two families, especially with the sleeping room and carpeted common area on the 2nd floor. Imagine I'll be calling Carla again next year. Having a nearby, basically private pool at our disposal, was also a great plus for this property, and lastly, compliments to the management for DVRing the Bama game for me - a special request that I knew was above and beyond, yet they managed to pull it off since we drove down on a Saturday."

  • Exceeded expectations!!

"1st visit to St George Island & certainly not the last. Pictures of this property really don't do it proper justice. It was perfect, beautifully furnished & decorated. The deck, gulf views and sunrises were amazing. Exactly what I was looking for ....isolation, relaxation. As we were scheduled to arrive 2 days after the hurricane, we were very concerned, the property management company did a wonderful job of staying in touch & keeping us informed. Prior to booking, I had a number of questions. The property owner contacted me almost immediately. I can't find the slightest item to complain about & am planning on booking again for next year."

  • Great for Diverse Family Traveling Together

"We were a very diverse family – with all sorts of different interests – traveling for the first time ever to St. George Island. Some of the group were looking to fish, others wanted to shop, and some just wanted to enjoy the beach, the shells, and the food. The Bay Beach Embassy was the perfect island retreat for our group. For the fisherman, a fish cleaning table was provided as well as ample storage space for gear underneath the house. The dock provided a great space to cast out a few lines in the early morning or late evening just steps from the back door. For the beach goers- the gulf-side ocean beach was only a very short five minute walk around the corner. A shower located underneath the home was perfect for rinsing off the sand after a day at the beach. For those looking to shop and dine - the property is only a 15 to 20 minute trek into town and 30 minutes to Apalachicola. The layout of the home worked perfectly for our group. Each “couple” was provided a bathroom (with the main floor bath having access from the bedroom as well as the main living space). The bedrooms upstairs are split providing ample privacy and space. Our group included a one year old little boy and a baby gate was provided within the home to block the bottom of the stairs and secure him on the main floor of the home. The upstairs screened porch was a welcome The home, including all necessary linens, were clean and well-equipped upon arrival. There were a few extra linens supplied in the laundry closet on the bottom floor of the home. The home is beautifully decorated with many unique items from around the world. A small “library” is located on the top floor with many interesting books to read through. There are some board games and puzzles provided for rainy days and all the TVs are updated and easy to use. While I do not fault them for this, I would use caution when booking this home with small rambunctious children. There are many “priceless artifacts” around this home and our child found great interest in all of them. We were constantly policing him. With that being said, we would return none-the-less – crazy child and all. The only two negatives about this house – and they are minor –are the location of the laundry machine and the lack of pantry space. The laundry room is in a closet in the first floor bedroom – meaning that you must go into one guest’s room to use it. It wasn’t convenient for most of our group to use the machine."
