  • Highly recommend!

"The duplex was the perfect fit for our two families! Plenty of space for everyone. You can mingle or you can find a quiet place to just sit and read. And the house had everything we needed. We also enjoyed some great seafood at the local restaurants. The beach is amazing! Clean, white sand, and warm, clear water. And it's not crowded at all! It's like having your own private beach, right outside your front door! There's also lots of marine life for those who like nature. I saw sea creatures I'd never seen before. And lots of shells! The kids loved to play in the waves. The weather was surprisingly cool for summertime, and I never saw a single mosquito. The house has two big porches, one downstairs and one upstairs. Both provide an excellent view of the ocean and the beautiful sunsets. If we weren't on the beach, we were relaxing on the porch. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the house uses geothermal cooling/heating (as an engineer, I thought that was neat!). The owner was very caring, making sure we had everything we needed and offering advice on the best places to eat. Very friendly and hospitable! We're already making plans for another visit."

  • Wonderful Stay at Home By the Sea

"We have been visiting CSB since 2005 and have stayed at many homes including another home in the Barefoot Trace neighborhood, some better then others and this one definitely was one of the better ones . The area is very quiet without a ton of houses nearby so the beach isn't very crowded. It is also located close to Scallop Cove and The Trading Post if you need to pick something up from the store but I suggest stopping in Port St. Joe at Piggly Wiggly for groceries before heading to the Cape. The walk to the beach is not that far and the owners provide lots of extras for you to use. Their housekeeper does a fantastic job and the house was very clean. We had 5 staying and there was plenty of room for all of us. My teenager slept on the fold out couch and my 10yr old daughter slept on the rollaway bed neither had a complaint about them. My husband and I stayed in the master bedroom and the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very nice with a nice jet tub and shower. My MIL stayed in the other room and she also said her bed was very comfortable. They have done a lot of upgrades in the home and I was very pleased with the nice appliances in the kitchen. The owner is very nice and will give you lots of great info if this is your first time staying on the Cape. I recommend Shoobies for soft serve ice cream or Italian ice and Trading Post for ice cream in many flavors! Indian Pass Raw bar for oysters or shrimp or if you want to travel into Apalachicola Up the Creek is a great place to eat. Joe Mama's Pizza in Port St. Joe is the best pizza place if you want a break from seafood while there. I would definitely recommend Home By the Sea to friends and plan on staying here again on our next trip to our favorite place in the sand!"

  • Perfect TownHome

"First time at Port St Joe. But will not be our last. Everything was gorgeous!!!! The townhome was beautiful and clean. Plenty of room for our family of 8. The owner was very nice and helpful with any questions that we had. They have made sure that the townhome was stocked with everything that you may need. Very short walk to the beach. The beach is beautiful and quiet. My family can not wait to go back. We will be staying at Stars on the Water again!!!"

"Once again we had a fabulous stay at Pelican Haven. This little piece of the Gulf Coast Is fantastic. The house is always clean and comfortable and there is so much to enjoy in the area.It is so laid back compared to beaches northwest of here.Every year we come down we meet friendly locals on the beach who usually tell us about things to see and do in the area that we have not already discovered. The uncrowded beaches are great for families or anyone that enjoys the oceans natural beauty without all the bad elements you may find in other areas.Port St Joe is just down the road and has all the convenieces such as grocery stores, restaurants and other shops. As you drive from Tyndall AFB into Mexico Beach to St Joe Beach you will get a really nice unobstructed view of the Gulf without all the high-rises that have taken over elsewhere. It truly is The Forgotten Coast and for me,I hope it stays that way."
