  • Cute n Cozy!

"Our family of 4 stayed at cottage 2 and really enjoyed it! Nothing fancy but Clean and Cute. The short walk to the beach was so convenient. Situated in the less crowded area it was the perfect place to unwind and really enjoy our vacation. Having a TV in living area as well as one of the bedrooms was nice and WiFi and movie channels a Bonus! In addition to the the water hose there is a outside shower which came in super handy! A supermarket was close and the prices weren't bad either. Thomas Donut place was great just b prepared for a wait as it seems to b a very popular little place. All in All Think Pink Cottages was the perfect place for our family to make wonderful memories and we plan on returning again next year!"

  • Best location for surf, shopping, and entertainment

"Lovely stay and a little preparation will help your stay run smooth. The location is perfect as your are right on the beach and so close to the water. You will not need to trudge through the sand with your chairs as the deck and walkway extend to the dunes and a short level path leads to the beach. The covered porch provides shade, a table, and cushioned chaise lounge. It would be nice if they upgraded a few chairs to directors height like the neighbors decks have as you cannot see over the railing when seated. The second sundeck with four chaise lounges and two Adirondack chairs is a sunbathers delight. The fresh water shower is welcome relief to remove sand and salt water prior to entering the house. The street side of the house has a carport for two cars to be in the shade and lets you unload groceries out of the rain. The large concrete driveway allows parking for five to six cars. The small charcoal grill is located under the porch on concrete which will prevent deck fires but isolates the cook. The grill is the cheap $19.99 small 17-22 inch square grill from WalMart . WalMart ad says you can get 16 burgers on this grill but like camp tents the occupancy seems overstated. The price of this home should raise the level of provided amenities and a gas grill should be standard. This el cheapo grill brings back college days of crappy condos . We did not grill out! The interior furnishings are very nice and match the level of the home. The sleeper couches are comfortable for sitting but typical sleepers when pulled open. We opened one to look at it but did not need it for sleeping, thank goodness. The living room has seating for eight, the kitchen table seating for four and five bar stools. The pantry closet has two folding chairs that can be used at the table or living room. The covered deck has a large circular table with six cushioned chairs for extra seating.Plenty of lamps, lighting and end tables. The kitchen supplies seem to have improved from prior reviews but still needs some attention to detail for such a lovely home offering occupancy of sixteen. Have you ever tried to make toast in a toaster OVEN? NOT fast! just two slices taking 2-4 minutes each. Where is the four slice toaster that lets you toast bread or bagels??? A small rusty cookie sheet placed in the oven on broil speeds things up. I found it funny that the broken can opener was still in the drawer. We did find a working one and will place a note on the broken one."

  • Wonderful Vacation Home!

"This is our third time to stay at the Casa de Mariposa, and just like the previous two stays, it was wonderful! The home is perfect for our family of four. It's just a brief walk to the beach (a beach that is far away from all the crowds), a short bike ride to Thomas's Donuts and a very short drive to Pier Park for shopping and dining. I believe our two girls loved the pool more than the beach! The home has everything you need for a stay at the beach and the home is very clean and accommodating. To me, the home is truly the gem of Laguna Beach. Thank you David and Lisa again for opening up your beach home to us ... and thank you again for another great vacation!"

  • Great Place for Large Family Gathering

"The family (grandparents and 4 children with their families) visited here in May. The place is amazing and everyone was greatly impressed. The layout is very functional and everyone enjoyed the pool. It is just a short walk to the beautiful sugar white beach. The beach is very clean and we felt safe walking there. There are restaurants and grocery stores nearby. The house was clean and well stocked (with toilet paper and paper towels and bathroom linens). You do need to bring your own beach towels and chairs and umbrella, as well as food and coffee, filters, etc. Although there were some filters there, that was because others had left some behind, can't count on that. The dining table is awesome, and we were all able to eat together. The house has wifi and the rules are actually very easy compared to many others we have stayed at. The only negative was that there was "fuelly" kind of smell in the garage, where the pool table is. It was not unbearable, but noticeable. We did not use the pool table, not because of the odor, just because we were too busy enjoying each others' company otherwise. All-in-all - a great vacation house and I highly recommend it."
