  • What an Oasis!

"The back yard was beautiful, the home is immaculate and Honey is extremely accommodating and quick to respond if you need anything. We were a group of 6 in the home and had more than enough space for everyone! We didn't hardly want to leave the house to go to the music festival with how gorgeous the back yard was! I highly recommend staying here. Great kitchen to cut down on eating out costs and a phenomenal back yard pool. I can't recommend the home enough! It's a quick Uber ride to downtown Ft Lauderdale and the beach and the price of the cab was also very reasonable. Great place to stay!"

  • heaven for the old and young

"We came down for a two-week working retreat with two kids (age 7 months and 2 years) and two Russian grandmas. The grandmas got into a rented minivan at the airport and refused to get back into the minivan until it was time to depart. They walked in the neighborhood, walked on the beach, or relaxed by the pool and were perfectly happy. (In fact they are ready any time to abandon Massachusetts for Florida!) If you want to be in this part of Florida this is a rare spot of single family beachfront homes that don't back right up to the busy A1A highway. Neighboring newly constructed beachfront houses are selling for $8 million and seeing a Ferrari parked out front is not uncommon. This house is an easy walk to a great fish taco place, a fantastic BBQ restaurant (Smoke), and a nice Greek place. You can also enjoy a 1-mile walk to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, which has ice cream shops, bars, etc. Walk along the sand or on a not-busy road separated from the beach by the towers of Galt Ocean Mile. There is a 24-hour Walgreens a three-minute walk away. It is about a 5-minute drive to Rt. 1 and every possible chain store (Whole Foods, Target, Chick fil-A, AMC movie theater, etc.). The beach area in front of the house does get kind of busy because it is right next to the public access path. Don't expect solitude, especially on a nice-weather weekend day. The kitchen is complete, but hold the onions, fish, and garlic. There is no range hood, there are no windows that open, and there are no screens for the doors. Thus the only way to ventilate the house without letting flies in (there aren't too many but enough that you can't just leave doors open all day) is to turn on all of the bathroom exhaust fans. There is a Brinkmann gas grill ($130 at Home Depot?) outside, but it isn't large enough to cook a complete meal for an extended family. The Internet is super fast, which was great for working. There is a public bike share location two blocks away (at A1A) but the traffic is too intense on most of the streets in South Florida to enjoy recreational biking (too bad because the terrain and weather are perfect!). Certainly a bike is fun for a few miles around the neighborhood and up and down the Galt Ocean Mile. Mirtha is nice and also responsive. Book soon because if the climate change alarmists are right this house will be reclaimed by the sea soon!"

  • Great location!

"Listing description was accurate. Property is 100 yards from the beach which is awesome. Condo was clean. King size bed in the large bedroom was very comfy. Plenty of nice luxury towels. Kitchen includes everything you need. Refridgerator water/ice dispenser had a small leak but Barry owner had someone come to fix it immediately. The only downside to me was the tiny TV provided and the lack of high definition cable which I believe is the industry standard nowadays. So I had to purchase a 50" LED and hooked up my Apple TV in order to watch ESPN and movies in high definition. There's no washer or dryer in the unit but there is a laundromat downstairs. Even though it only cost $1.25 per load I never used it since they are the old non high efficiency units which could ruin my clothes. I did my laundry at a laundromat in Hollywood about 10-15 minutes away which doesn't require coins and cost only slightly more at $1.60 per load. The owner Barry always responded promptly. I would recommend this property if you're looking to stay around the beach."

  • Amazing Experience

"Vacation Candy is amazing! We have stayed many times at this resort and every time we love it more and more. Will be back on August for more splash fun. The resort offers a lot of fun activities. The water fitness classes and the Yoga sessions were amongst the best I have ever attended - great instructors. Friendly staff and a great experience overall. Thank you Vacation Candy for the gifts :)"
