  • An excellent location on Key Biscayne

"Key Biscayne is very densely populated with expensive homes and enormous high rise condos and apartments. This little gem is a one bedroom in a renovated older two story building ["Governor's Lodge"] on Sunrise Drive tucked away with other good properties only 100 yards or so from the beach and about 250 yards from shopping and excellent restaurants. The rooms are well furnished in South Florida style, comfortably understated in decor, and ample amenities, utensils, dishes and all you would expect. It was very comfortable and even cozy in the January rains and cooler temperatures. Note too that it has excellent air conditioning when needed. You can walk the whole island including top-rated Crandon Park and Beach and Bill Bagg Park where we saw manatees, other wildlife, excellent views of Biscayne Bay and the lighthouse. We will return."

  • Can't wait to come back. Great vacation

"This is our second time here and it won't be our last. We loved this place. My girlfriend and I went with her 11 year old daughter and friend. The two adults each had a bedroom and the girls wanted to sleep on the air mattress in the living room. The beds are so comfortable. The showers had great pressure and hot water. The kitchen has everything you need and more. The little extras like salt and pepper, ketchup, paper towels, toilet paper, cooking oil, ice in the freezer really make a difference. It is so nice not to have to buy those things for a short visit. Having a dishwasher and washer and dryer is a great bonus. Plus there was detergent. The beach is a short block away. There are beach toys, towels and chairs. The girls loved playing in the pool. The best of both worlds for kids, beach and pool. The owners are great people. They are there if you need them, otherwise you never see them. A great home away from home. Can't wait to go back."

  • Beautiful property!

"Had a great time staying at this beautiful property. Kelly was extremely helpful, giving us tips to getting around Pompano Beach and recommending some good places in the area to eat at (she even printed out our boarding passes for us to help save us the $30 that it would cost to print it at the airport!). The house is in an incredible location - only 5 minutes to the beach walking - and is situated very close to a 24hr shop and bus stop. Stingers Pizza sits just down the street and is a great place to relax after a long day at the beach. The property itself was very clean and the kitchen was fully equipped for cooking meals. The grill in the back was a great addition and made BBQ-ing possible. In addition, there's a dock right off the back of the house, that was great to sit and have a morning cup of coffee. The rooms were spacious and well-furnished. I had a great time and highly recommend the property to any future vacationers!"

  • A wonderful 8 weeks!!

"We are two adult couples who rented this home for 8 weeks from January 4-February 29, 2016. Melba's home was very comfortable and having a pool on the property was great!! Melba, the owner of this home was so nice and very responsive. We talked often over the course of the 8 weeks. Melba had a notebook in the house with lots of really good information for us. We used the living room as our quiet reading place, so we called it our library. The formal dining room was perfect for dinner with guests. We were able to use the grill and eat dinner on the lanai since there was a cage over the pool and patio. The house was in a quiet neighborhood at the beginning of a cul-de-sac. The neighborhood was perfect for walking every day and led to a wonderful walking/biking path on Old Cutler Road. The house was conveniently located to Publix grocery stores, as well as Southland Mall and Falls Shopping Center. We found some great restaurants. We explored from Ft. Lauderdale to Key West and everything in between Our stay at Melba's house was delightful. We definitely recommend Melba's house to families or couples. You will be very comfortable there."
