  • Nice place, but pool service, cleanliness, grill and noise levels need improvement.

"Overall the stay was nice. Nice kitchen, pool (more to come on that), ample space and close to the beach. However- I should point out a few things: 1. When we arrived the pool was dirty. (Full of leaves.) Heat stopped working on the third day due to the filter getting clogged. The owners were very responsive and sent someone out immediately when we reached out. On the last day, some random 'pool guy' arrived and while our children were literally in the middle of playing/swimming he just started cleaning it without a word. I asked if he could do it another time (it was our last day after all) and he begrudgingly said, "Well we clean twice a week." I told him it hadn't been cleaned since we were there (1 week stay) and asked why it was such a huge priority now. He said they clean it twice a week- once on Wednesday (which I knew was false, because that's the day we arrived to a dirty pool) and also on Friday (which didn't happen because we were there and no one showed up.) After some back and forth he agreed not to pour a bunch of chemicals in the pool, effectively ruining the last day of our stay and just dropped some tablets in the skimmer. He did a quick clean with a vacuum/net and left. The owners are responsive but they should consider switching pool service providers. It's possible they're not getting the service that beautiful, heated saltwater pool deserves. Otherwise- If you arrive and it's dirty- reach out to the owners and they'll rectify the issue right away. When cleaned properly & heated that pool is awesome. 2. The grill was absolutely disgusting. Put simply, it was a fire hazard. It took me and my friend (who luckily is a fireman) about an hour to get it clean enough just so we could safely grill. 3. They are remodeling around the pool next door and cutting tiles. This means loud construction work (as well as loud music) right next to the master bedroom window every morning starting promptly at 8am. We wake up fairly early and didn't mind the noise so much (or tunes for that matter), but large clouds of tile cutting dust would randomly waft into the backyard as we lounged by the pool. 4. Also- There are notices all over the house warning of loss of a security deposit if this or that is damaged, yet the master bedroom's bathroom's doorknob was literally hanging of its mounting, as if someone started to install it but then gave up. 5. Finally- we arrived to dirt all over the floor in the 'garden room' by the sliding glass door."

  • Well-appointed, very clean and great location! Would definitely stay there again

"Sleeps 4 but a little tight, as my kids get bigger we'll have to find a place with 2 bedrooms, but for couples with 1-2 smaller kids, it's great!"

  • Great Vacation

"We had a family reunion in Fort lauderdale over the weekend and we found Villa Mimosa on Homeaway. The pictures were beautiful and we completely fell in love with the home. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Lauren for our check in, who helped us with our luggage, which was great after our long travels. The entrance to the home is lushly landscaped with giant palms, and made for quite an entrance for my kids who have never been to a tropical location before :) The whole property is very private and nobody can have a look in the backyard, unless you’re on a boat LOL! We had some nice cook outs together in the backyard and loved watching the sunsets into the evening as the boats passed by, the experience was really breathtaking. There is lots of seating around the pool as well as a dining table outside that seats 8. The inside of the home is spacious for a 3 bedroom, where the living room, dining and kitchen area all have a beautiful view out over the Pool and the Intercostal waterway. We saw some Dolphins in the canal which a local later told us is because they are seeking shelter for when they give birth, so cool. The Bedrooms have a really nice interior and the beds are really comfortable. Lauderdale by the Sea is not far away and is a nice little community full of shops and restaurants. We had a lot of fun and will definitely recommend the house to our friends and family! Alex Troy, Michigan"
