"First off--what a great location. If you're looking for a place to party with all of the noise, get someplace on Ocean Drive north of 6 Street, but if you want to have a quiet, comfortable, beach-front location that is only 2.5 blocks from all of the partying, this is the place. You've got Big Pink (great restaurant), drug stores, corner markets, deli's, street cafes, clubs, etc. all within minutes, and you can't get closer to the beach. Plus, there's a pool and laundry facilities (bring quarters). I like the laundry on-site because I can bring 1/2 of what I need and do laundry on a slow morning. My only suggestion to the owner, who was always responsive, is that it would be nice to have some amenities in the apartment. I've stayed at VRBO apartments in Paris, Nice, NYC, and other places and they all had some basic cooking supplies--salt/pepper, basic spices, cooking oil, butter, coffee and creamer and tea, and condiments. I suspect that most of these items are things that people buy and then just leave. In fact, every place I've stayed also had left over liquor to share. (Maybe that's not such a good idea to share opened bottles, but it's never been an issue for me.) I also think a few writing pens, pads of paper, some simple games (cards, Yahtzee, etc.) and a radio would have rounded out the amenities. Maybe a ledger for guests to write their name and their suggestions for Miami Beach area explorations for the next travelers? And a map with busses and which to take to go to specific points on the Island as well as Miami would have saved us a lot of time. The bathroom was nice, but didn't have adequate soap, and no shampoo. Those details would make this apartment go from great to perfect! I'd DEFINITELY stay here again--the bed was comfortable and the sleeper in the living room was comfortable! Oh, one more thing--I'm pretty sure there is a picture of the bedroom with a television--there was no TV in that room. I didn't mind because I hate watching TV in bed. And also know that access to the bathroom is through the bedroom--again, no inconvenience, but if you're traveling with someone you don’t know very well who is using the bedroom, know that whomever uses the lay-down sofa in the LR--you'll have to get into the bedroom to use the bathroom. Finally, having two fobs for front entry would have been very helpful. Overall, a great place that could go from great to perfect with just a little more attention to detail."

  • The best experience!

"I feel so fortunate to have rented at the Flamingo. Valerie was very easy to communicate with and called me early in the booking process to answer my questions directly rather than emailing back and forth. She met me at the entrance and showed me around the complex and then the neighborhood. She also accompanied me to the leasing office. The Flamingo does not allow leases shorter than a month; you need to get an ID badge to swipe into the complex and into the building and onto the elevator. I found the complex to be very secure and beautifully maintained. The grounds are spectacular. The pools are amazing. The other residents were incredibly friendly. The most amazing thing, to me, is that a membership at the Flamingo gym was included in the monthly rental fee. The gym is huge and beautiful. Group exercise classes are included free-of-charge. The staff and instructors at the gym were absolutely fabulous with a special shout out to Michelle for her spinning class and Amy for her HIIT and Kihara stretch classes. About the unit: It is better than in the pictures. The living room is spacious and there is a balcony with beautiful views over Biscayne Bay and downtown Miami. I loved starting and ending my days on the balcony. There is a dining room table that can easily accommodate 6 persons. The kitchen has plenty of counter space. If you really like to/plan on cooking, I do recommend bringing your own chef knives as those in the apt are not great. There are more than enough plates, glasses, wine glasses, mugs, etc. There are wooden spoons, spatulas, etc for your cooking needs. There is an LG combination washer/dryer in the kitchen; there was an issue with the pump caused by a previous tenant and when Valerie was informed it was fixed the next day. The bedrooms are large and have plenty of storage. Valerie provides beach towels, some beach/pool toys; beach umbrellas. There are a ton of hangers in the closets. The bathrooms are really the weak point of the apartment and that is no fault of the owner. They were designed small back in the 60's when the building was built and that is how they remain. They have been updated but there is not much to be done about their size; and that is how all of the units are as best as I could determine. There is an abundance of hot water and the water pressure was good. I was truly delighted with my stay at Valerie's place in the Flamingo South Tower and hope to return again!"

  • Wonderful apartment in miami south beach!

"We had the best time in Sammy's amazing place. The apartment is truly wonderful and the views are to die for. The balcony is completely private and the views day and night over the bay and Miami downtown skyline are some of the best you can find in this world. To be honest the photos do not do it justice! Great location and development close to all the restaurants, shops and bars south beach has to offer. Lincoln is around the corner literally. Walking distance to the beach and the great bicycle scheme makes it easy to discover the area on two wheels. The apartment is comfortable, clean and quiet and Sammy is a superb host, attentive yet discrete. We will try to go back very soon again that's for sure!"

  • Great location

"My family and I booked both apartment 402 and 403 for a big reunion- We had 15 people and they were able to accommodate all of us. The location was perfect. I loved being on ocean drive and being so close to the beach. There was so much for us to do close by we never brought the car out of the parking garage. Thank you to lucinda for finding these apartments for us and making it so easy We would definitely come back to this location!"
