  • Relaxing and comfortable

"If what you want from a vacation is sun, sea, relaxation and all the comforts you need to help you enjoy that then this rental is for you. The owners, Toni and Mike were, once again, extremely helpful and accommodating and the house gave us an excellent base with everything we needed for a great vacation. North Captiva is one of those places that you want to keep secret yet shout about because it is so fantastic if you like relaxing by the pool, walking on the beach or watching the sunset as you fish from the shore. If you like night life and action then perhaps this place is not for you but this was our fifth visit to the island and second to this house and we are already looking forwards to a return trip next year."

  • 2nd year in a row in this wonderful unit

"This is the second year in a row that we stayed in this unit, and in between our stays, the owner upgraded the kitchen, which is beautiful! The kitchen is well stocked with probably every utensil, appliance, pots, pans, etc. that you would ever need. The unit is very clean, and the bedding and furniture still feel and look brand new. The owner is very nice and has always replied very quickly with any question I have had. My previous review has more details, but to clarify, the master bedroom has a partial gulf view and partial pool view, but the view of both the gulf and the pool are mostly obstructed from the enclosed lanai due to the many lush palm trees on the pathway leading to the pool outside below the lanai, but it is a very nice tropical view. The pool is a large saltwater pool, which is nice because you come out feeling relatively clean and there is no smelly chlorine. The grounds are very well kept. There are stairs near the unit and lead to the unit’s covered parking spot. The washer/dryer and elevator are down the hall. Outside the elevator, there was a shopping cart and luggage cart which is helpful on move in/move out day with luggage, and after a trip to Publix (just over the bridge, about 5 minutes away) with lots of groceries. The huge deck with BBQ grills near the beach is great, and it has a covered section with tables and chairs. There was a massive meteor shower while we were there mid-August, and my family went out onto this deck at 5 am until dawn, and saw 20-30 meteors overhead! Siesta Key is well known for it’s fine white powdery sand, and even in the August sun and heat, it never got hot and was very comfortable to walk on it barefoot. If you are an early riser, walking on the beach just after sunrise is beautiful – I even happened to witness a baby sea turtle that had just hatched, make it’s way to the water!"

  • Gorgeous home and perfect beach setting for a wedding and vacation

"Wow! This is an absolutely gorgeous home with the prettiest grounds on the island and the perfect beach setting! We hosted our daughter’s wedding and reception at the house and it was fantastic! The area below and behind the house are great for a reception and we couldn’t have found a nicer beach for the wedding! The owners are great to work with and helped out tremendously with the wedding and reception! I didn’t know what to expect when I was told that we would have a concierge that day but I sure didn’t expect the help we received! It was great. Very friendly and accommodating! After the wedding, when we finally had some downtime, we were able to truly discover the beach. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets that can be enjoyed from the multiple balconies, from the hot tub or directly from the beach! We spent the remaining days walking the beach to the State Park, picking up shells (better shelling than even Sanibel!), hoping the turtles would hatch and kayaking and paddle boarding (we brought those). We paddle boarded with a Manatee and with Dolphins! So close we could have reached out and touched them. Having access to the Club Cart and the van was great and the passes to the ferry really helped! It’s certainly close enough to Sarasota, Fort Myers, Sanibel, Naples etc. for some great sightseeing but I would suggest highly that you get everything you need, groceries (don’t forget the coffee  ) etc. and then just spend your days on the island. We plan on coming back next year with a lot more time on our hands to do more fishing, paddle boarding, sunset watching and beach combing! Our other daughter already has her wedding plans in the works for the Tranquility House in a couple of years!"
