  • Great location

"Our family of 4 adults and two children had a wonderful time at Chatterbox Cottage. We had everything we needed and loved the proximity of the beach, ease and parking and lack of crowds in August. Pool is small but great for the kids to cool off. Thoroughly recommend the wonderful sunsets at the end of the day. Would love to return one day. Thanks Jim for speedy response both before, during and after holiday."

  • No place like home

"This was our family's second stay at the Wilson House. Each day (after outings to the Sanibel beaches, Caya Costa State Park, Marco Island, etc.), someone in our party of 4 always mentioned about returning "home." That, I thought, spoke volumes about how comfortable everyone felt here and how cozy a place this is to stay. We were even welcomed this year with a bouquet of flowers on the kitchen table. The house includes everything one could need; we especially appreciate having a washer and dryer so we didn't have to pack a week's worth of clothes when we came. We used the beach umbrella, beach chairs, beach bag and towels every day and the Yahtzee game (in the game closet) every evening. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood, near several restaurants and deli, and near the Tropic Star marina (for kayaking and for the ferry ride to Caya Costa). It is about an hour from Sanibel, which is an easy drive. Wifi is available in the house. We were able to connect with our smartphones, but found that we spent the majority of the week disconnected, enjoying the sun, the sand, the water and each other's company. Thank you, again, to Michael and Sherry, for sharing their home with us and allowing us to call this place "home" for a week!"

  • February/March at Fiddlers Green

"Anne and I had a most wonderful time during our February/March stay at Fiddlers Green. The condo was spacious and bright, and with the enclosed liana, had plenty of room for guests and friends to visit. The liana facing the north/east, overlooks the Preserve, and is very comfortable to sit and relax in at any time during the read or listen to the plethora of wild-life close by. The kitchen was well outfitted with sufficient equipment and settings to prepare and serve dinner for eight. The Fiddlers Green complex is well looked after and friendly. Just about everyone says "hello" and will stop and chat when one is out for a walk. Within the first days of our arrival we were welcomed by one of the owners, who briefed us on the amenities, activities and events of the complex.....a nice touch We took advantage of many of these to meet and enjoy the other owners/renters who were also staying there (eg: Saturday coffee; Sunday cocktails; Mens, Ladies and Couples Golf; Tennis; Aqua fit; Crafts; Valentine's and St Patrick Days Parties: to name a few) During our time there we met and became friendy with quite a few with whom we will likely stay in touch. There are plenty of local restaurants within a few miles and all serve reasonably priced meals. Beaches were 10 - 15 minutes away and are great for walking and sunbathing, but a little cold for swimming until late in March. However the complex pool, at a constant 85 deg F, is a more than adequate swimming alternative. Thank you Bill for providing your condo, it was very comfortable. While we were disappointed to learn of your intention to sell, we would certainly recommend the property to friends and family.......and would return in a heartbeat. Best Regards Mike & Anne Moorcroft"

  • Gorgeous Pool!

"We stayed here the first week of August 2016. There was 3 couples and 3 kids ages 3,5 and 10. The house is so modern and decorated beautifully with a nicely stocked kitchen and comfortable beds like so many other reviewers stated. The pool area is perfect. It has a ledge that is 1/2 foot deep that the younger kids loved to play on and the table in the pool was perfect place to have drinks and watch the Olympics that were on while we were there. Huge basket of beach towels for anyone to use. The walk to the beach was only 2 blocks and there are lots of sand toys, Tommy Bahama beach chairs, bikes, etc. 7 of us could fit around the big table for meals and the 2 little ones loved their special table off by themselves. But we did have a couple of minor issues and one not so minor issue . . . 1. The water heater broke the first day we were there and it took us a couple of days to compare notes and realize that all of us were taking lukewarm showers. The pipes run underground so close to the surface that the water was semi-heated since it was August not ice cold water. Emma tried her absolute best to get service men out there quickly but it was a tank-less water heater and needed both a plumber and electrician to come out. So there was a lot back and forth between the two on the order things needed to be done and we were a lot more involved than we wanted to be on our vacation. It did not get fixed till Thursday (we arrived Saturday prior). We did get compensation but it took a month. 2. The kid's room (with the bunk beds) has a door that leads outside. Of course, all the kids tried to open it and the youngest one ended up sleeping with parents for the week because of the door. I completely missed that detail in the pictures so just be aware. 3. The master bedrooms do not have locks and open directly out into the living room. Our kids loved to open our door when we were getting dressed. 4. One of the master bedrooms has a port hole window looking directly out to the street that does not have any window treatment over it. We ended up just stuffing a blanket in the window to block it. 5. If the waterfall is running in the pool, the pool is not filtering. The waterfall was so pretty and fun to play under but on the Friday of our stay the pool company came by for a check and told us the pool had not been filtering all week. If water overflowing from hot tube, then water is being filtered."
