  • A Fisherman's Paradise

"No review can give this rental justice. I have stayed at multiple VRBO locations and this one was above and beyond. We were able to fish daily off a private dock, which was abundant with snook and mangrove snapper. The beach was a beautiful leisurely walk across the street to absolute privacy and seclusion. We had the Gulf Beach to ourselves most of the time. The shelling was fantastic and we picked up conch and rare spiral seashells to show to our friends and family. Another bonus is the private swimming pool. It was a great refresher from a hot day in the sun. The kitchen is well equipped for all types of cooking. Everything you would need to make a home cooked meal was provided. The location was convenient to all restaurants and recreational activities. My son had a great time jet skiing and fishing. Also, the owners had games and toys to entertain my son on and off the beach. I happily recommend this home since I think it is a great hidden paradise for families. The owners provide everything you could wish for. Fishing poles, beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, and wagons to transport fun. We had the opportunity to meet the owners and they gave us a history of their property and shared the delights of the many fruit trees on the land. They were exceptionally accomadating and kind to any request. We look forward to returning to this rental and sharing it with friends and family."

  • Great House for Two Small Familes

"We are two couples each with a late teen son. The home was clean, beds comfortable. One of the features we liked about the property is the separate living areas, each with its own bathroom, kitchen, and living room. Downstairs is large enough for all to gather while each floor offers privacy for the adults/couples. Unless you're looking for a beachfront property, location is within walking distance of about anything you'd need. Beach, restaurants, boat rentals, convenience store (liquor) are all within a 10 minute walk. Would (and hopefully will) book this for another getaway in the future."

  • Fantastic House - Fantastic Week!

"Our first trip ever to Captiva was wonderful, and it all started with the fantastic Sandpiper Beach House! The house is perfectly located in a beautiful neighborhood. Coffee and breakfast on the comfortable lanai was a very relaxing way to start the day. A quick walk to the beach with the wagon full of beach floats, towels and chairs - ALL provided by the gracious owner - made every day a day in paradise. My 2 year-old grandson also enjoyed swimming in the beautiful, heated pool. The house offered plenty of room for privacy and togetherness for our family of 6 plus baby. The decor is so nice - but we never felt uncomfortable having 2 teens and a baby in the house. The beds are SO comfortable with luxury mattresses and linens. Everyone slept great! The state-of-the-art appliances made keeping house easy - the large, efficient washing machine and dryer were a definite bonus! And all the Stainless kitchen appliances and granite counter tops were exceptional as well - plenty of ice in the ice-maker - plenty of room in the refrigerator for 2 families to blend goodies and necessities. The baths were well-appointed with plenty of fluffy towels and large counters for toiletries. Dinner was just a quick stroll up to the main strip with so many restaurant choices - we tried them all and enjoyed them all! We loved dinner outside, listening to live music every night - then walking down to the beach to watch the gorgeous Gulf sunsets. The guys even got in a chartered fishing trip one morning. It was such a relaxing week for all of us - lovely accommodations and everything you want to enjoy within a 5 minute walk. We are definitely planning to return next year! The Sandpiper Beach House provides all you need for a relaxing, memorable vacation!"

  • Could use a little polish

"Overall for the money this location is ideal...very cozy feel...also was a great place because they accepted pets which was my primary reason for taking this place ...however ...I wish the owner would go there when it is not rented ...the dryer hood is completely rusted out ...the beach toy area needs attention ...the shower faucet in the master needs to be looked at ...many bulbs are out..the refrigerator needed attention when we were there it wasn't cold enough...maybe it's because it's next to the oven ??? Positive is it is cozy and shabby chic and 5 minutes to the beach ...but I will look around next time we go to captiva...we always stayed at sundial for many years and decided to try a house because of my dogs but if we decide next year to do the house thing I will do my research ."
