  • Captiva is Always Captivating

"Our stay in March 2016 started with a few bumps but ended up being the perfect week in paradise. South Seas is such a nice and relaxing place to stay and looking out over the small marina and Pine Island Sound was so picturesque. The weather was perfect. The condo was really perfect for us except for a few easy areas for improvement. The pots, pans and dishes are quite sparse. Make sure to buy or bring ground coffee as there is no coffee grinder. Our biggest issue was that there are no closets to hang our clothes except for one very small utility closet that was filled with paint cans, toilet plunger, broom, etc. We quickly discovered however, aside from clothing spread out over chairs, that next time we could simply pack much lighter with folding clothes instead of hanging clothes. There is plenty of room for an armoire in the main room and another in the bedroom and it would be very nice and accommodating if they would add this to the furnishings. I've frankly never stayed in a place that didn't have a place to hang up clothes. Other than that our trip was near perfection in every way. We love Captiva and Sanibel and can not wait to return!"

  • Really Nice Condo in South Seas

"This lands ends condo is really good for a small family or girlfriend getaway! Plenty of room for everyone to stretch out and enjoy the view of the gulf which included pelicans, dolphins and boats everyday! Really enjoyed the use of the fishing poles and beach chairs too. We brought our own bikes instead of renting and rode everywhere, including all the way to the Sanibel lighthouse! The kitchen was hardly used but had more than everything you needed for your stay. I only wish they had left some empty cupboard space for our own food. The beds were super comfortable and really nice linens. Bathrooms were really clean and had great towels! The only downside I would say if you were expecting to use the resort amenities including the trolley, ice cream store, restaurants, beach rentals or any of the shops you cannot. They do not sell daily or weekly passes. Its a shame South Seas doesn't even in their off season wouldn't want your money. We live in a resort in South Carolina and they don't turn down any reason to take your money. We enjoyed the pool we were aloud to use but if you have small children they might be disappointed they can't use the resort pool which has slides etc. Doc Fords was the only restaurant you can pay cash or credit card at within South Seas area but honestly that was the only place we didn't like! Stick to Keylime Bistro, Otters, Mucky Duck, Bubble Room and Captiva Cantina that are outside the gates. I wouldn't hesitate telling anyone to rent this well maintained condo!"

  • It Just Doesn't Get Any Better Than This...

"Our group of 9 friends thoroughly enjoyed Saba Winds this past week. The weather was excellent, with each day being sunny and in the mid to upper 80's. The house is beautiful and is well layed out with a huge kitchen and very open living area that leads to a phenomenal back porch/deck area. The was plenty of seating for all 9 of us on the deck and we spent much of our time there. The kitchen was stocked with lots of utensils and pots/pans, etc. However we didn't find a cake pan. We also would like to suggest having a few spices available. There was a big refrigerator in the kitchen and another full sized one in the downstairs apartment as well as a small one in the upstairs laundry. Plenty of room for both food and your favorite beverages! The beds were all comfortable and the bathrooms were very clean and nice. My favorite...they had shower heads for tall people and good water pressure in the showers! Each bedroom had a walk-in closet with lots of room for clothing. There was also a washer/dryer upstairs and downstairs. The downstairs apartment was very nice as well. It has a full kitchen, a nice bathroom, and a very roomy living area. You do have to go outside to access the apartment which presented no problems for our group. The house is stocked with plenty of beach chairs and an umbrella. We saw some fishing poles, a few sand toys, and they furnish lots of nice beach towels. The pool area is also very nice with lots of seating and beautiful, lush vegetation (which surrounds the house). Overall, the house is just phenomenal. The owner checked on us when we arrived and we had no problems during our stay. One of our highlights was we saw a bald eagle land right in front of the house! We were pretty sure he/she was gathering nesting materials. We later saw a biologist walking the beach taking counts and asked her about the eagle. She said they are beginning to nest at this time! The beach was wonderful, although a red tide had come through just before we arrived and there were lots of dead fish on the beach. The water was a little murky because of Hurricane Matthew, but by the end of the week the water was clearing. We found lots of small conch shells (2 to 3 inches) as well! We will definitely be back! This house is a keeper in makes you want to come back again and again! In fact, our group of friends has done quite a bit of traveling all over, and they all agree this is the best house ever!"

  • Wonderful home in a quiet Captiva neighborhood

"We had such a wonderful time staying in this home! Our group consisted of 4 adults and 2 children, and we all loved this house. It was furnished very comfortably and had a very beachy feel, which we love. We cooked a lot of meals at home and found the kitchen had everything we needed. I loved having a washer and dryer in the house, as well as the outdoor shower for rinsing off sand and salt water. We usually stay on Sanibel, this was our first time staying on Captiva, and we could not have been more pleased with our experience. We spent a lot of time relaxing in my favorite spot, the large lanai, and my husband and son played catch in the grassy yard. The neighborhood has a very nice pool, tennis courts, gas grills, and a wonderful boardwalk to the ocean. The beach is a 2 minute walk from the house. The location could not be better-we walked to The Mucky Duck, RC Otters, and Cantina Captiva for several meals. We watched the sunsets nightly from the beach and saw more dolphins playing in the shallow surf on this trip than all my previous visits to the islands combined! We also had a great "front row" seat from the beach for Tween Waters Inn's annual firework show, which was amazing. We drove over to Sanibel for several meals (Sanibel Fish House is our absolute favorite) and shopping, and hiked the on Bailey Tract, where we normally catch a glimpse of an alligator. This time, however, a Florida bobcat walked right out onto the trail in front of us! Owner Ginny was very receptive and answered any questions promptly. We will definitely stay here again!"
