  • Great Condo with Gulf View

"September 2016 - Our first time using Home Away and didn't know what to expect. We were totally pleased with the condo and the view of the Gulf. The condo was very clean and tidy. It had basically every thing you need to make you feel at home. there was even Beach chairs and umbrellas to use at beach which made it nice not having to bring ours. Bill the owner was awesome to work with and very responsive. The building was secure! There was a couple of things that wasn't a show stopper but felt i needed to mention. During the week in september we were there, they had construction going on, on the building we were at. luckily it was on the side and back of the building from us. It was noisy at times but nothing we couldn't handle. Also, the construction people held up the elevators when we were out one day and there was no other way into the building. I tried calling the emergency number provided to us in our room but no one answered and there was no voice mail option. We were stuck out of the building for a little while until we were able to get them to let elevators down. I kind of wish we had notice of the construction on the building prior to our trip so we could have been prepared. The view of the gulf is awesome from the balcony. Nice to relax and watch the birds and dolphins. The beach in front of the condo is not easy to get to. You have to trek through water to get to it bu its great for shell hunting but not for laying out. We loaded up car and drove about 1/2 mile to beach access area for a better beach experience. Which we didn't mind.. parking was good this time of year but may be a little tricky in busier times. Overall we were please and enjoyed our stay . We plan to do it again.. Thanks.."

  • Great stay!

"We just got back from our stay at 295 Mango St. and are already missing the pool. The property was in great shape and the garage with the ping pong table as well as the pool area were definitely enjoyed by our two teenagers. The gas grill was a great feature as well and was definitely used during our stay. We were in need of a rolling cooler and it was nice to find that the rental company had that available for us to rent and even would've delivered if it hadn't been Sunday. When we arrived we were starving and it was pouring out so the first place delivering that we found was Ray's Pizza. That quickly became our go to delivery place during the week. We rented bikes for the teens during our stay and they enjoyed that, there is a rental place at the end of the street, along with another one a short walk down Estero. After reading all of the positive reviews we decided to try the Heavenly Biscuit at the end of the street. We got there when there wasn't a line and were able to get one of the tables inside. The food was excellent. It was also great having Royal Scoop at the end of the street, I know I dropped $100 in there over the course of the week but Death by Peanut Butter is amazing. We also enjoyed being in walking distance to the Bay Oaks recreation center where the boys were able to go during open gym and play basketball for a small fee. The 7-11 and grocery stores are also close by. You won't be disappointed with a stay at 295 Mango Street:)"

  • You can't oversell the view!

"While not quite 360° it is an amazing vantage point to appreciate the water and wilderness of the area. We enjoyed watching the Osprey and other birds take advantage of the air currents and the abundant fish in the surrounding waters. The unit itself is comfortable for two people and has everything that you would expect and need in the kitchen. Unfortunately we could never connect to the wifi but, since we travel frequently, we brought our own. If you like a very, very soft bed you will love this one. There were zero hangers in the closet when we arrived so we made an excursion to the mainland to purchase some so we had a way to hang our clothing. Lastly, we wish we would have at least known that there was construction happening on the roof right above us. While we may not have changed our minds about the rental we would have at least been informed that pretty intense drilling would start at 7:30 AM each day. Alas..."
