  • Sunset Paradise-Second Time Around

"We booked the July 4th, 2016 week at this property back in July of 2015. Having spent a week there in the summer of 2014, we knew what was waiting for us and, at times, it seemed as though this year would never pass. I am happy to report that this year's experience was as terrific as expected. First of all, this house has a new genuine "summerlike" appearance with the new siding and blue roof. It really stands out when you view it from the beach. And, as for the amenities; they are still as advertised. Six adults and four grandkids made up our party and with the four bedrooms and private bath for each, everyone had plenty of space and privacy. It was immaculate when we arrived and the cleaning crew was arriving to ready it for the next set of guests as we departed. I counted 176 steps from the front porch across the sand beach to the edge of the Gulf of Mexico. The area has had some bad publicity as of late with regards to the Blue-Green Toxic alge but there was none to be found anywhere on the beach or even in Estero Bay behind the property. Several "locals" said that what little there was working it's way across the state was still a good distance away from Ft Myers and not expected to impact the area. The water was as warm, clear and inviting as ever. The kids spent hours in the pool. It was actually difficult to drag them away from the place to go sight seeing and the like. Sunsets haven't changed either - spectacular right over the water towards Sanibel Island. Only wish they could have lasted a bit longer each evening. We rented a pontoon boat on Estero Bay, took a boat tour out near Sanibel Island, ate out, cooked at the house both in the kitchen and on the outside grill, walked the beach, swam, went shelling; you name it. There are numerous restaurants on Ft Myers Beach itself and nearby - less than 15 minutes away in Bonita Springs. Your are maybe five minutes away from a fully stocked grocery store. Your parking at the house in plentiful-we had three cars-and off the road. It's difficult to even see the adjacent houses although they are steps away. All in all, our group of ten had a fabulous week. We will be back. We didn't want to leave. You won't want to either."

  • Undisturbed Lovers Key

"Lover's Key Beach Club itself is the better of the 3 rental properties on Black Island. It has a Pool & Beach access right at the resort that the other 2 do not. The morning beach walks were amazing with lots of sea finds from several types of crabs to urchins to starfish and no shortage of shells. You can literally walk for miles! Every day there were dolphins some as close into shore as 6 feet, simply amazing. There were a number of bird species some of which were quiet friendly. The unit we stayed in was 1107 and was very clean and ample for 2 people. Everything you needed for the week was there, all you need to do is grocery shop. The pool was very clean as were the hallways and common areas. The people that can be called 'regulars' were welcoming and wonderful to visit with. Flippers the restaurant within walking distance was excellent. The only downfall is that it is pretty isolated besides that, you have to drive to any other restaurants. The state park is right across the road and manatee are plentiful. Watch for the noseeums, they are not specific to this resort but the area in general. We purchased some benedryl spray that helped with the itch."

  • Adult Trip for 10!

"We chose the Anchorage Beach House for a week for five couples. Several are turning 60 this year and we went to celebrate. We had an amazing week! The weather was perfect and we loved spending a week on the beach when they were getting snow at home. So many things about the house fit our needs perfectly. The house was very comfortable and we loved having the two kitchens. We all have very busy lives and were wanting a week of fun and relaxation and cooked most of our meals in the house. We loved the large table, it was wonderful that we could all sit down and eat together. The house was very roomy and we didn't feel like we were in each other's space at all. Theresa was great to deal with. We had to email a couple times while we were there and she got back to us immediately. The walk to the beach is very easy and we loved the wagons. We loaded chairs, coolers, beach bags, and anything else we were taking to the beach in them very easily. We would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a great place to stay. Publix is an easy walk away, that was an added bonus. Thanks again for sharing your home with us! Just a side note, Fresh Catch Bistro is an short walk away and was an amazing place to eat! (PS Theresa returned our deposit to us VERY quickly!)"
