  • WHAT A FANTASTIC PROPERTY IN BEAUTIFUL BONITA SPRINGS!!

"This property couldn't have been better for our vacation. Well maintained and furnished. Great directions for use. GREAT location on the property close to the pool and the beach. Great summertime sunset views from that building. Storage unit had lots of fun beach equipment to use as well. So thankful we chose this property and will seek again if we travel that way anytime in the future!!!"

  • Beach time sunrise to sunset!

"What a wonderful vacation in such an amazing home. Beach time is great because you could always hang out in the shade of the house if it gets too hot. The Gulf is nice and calm most of the time, so you don't really need a pool to just chill out in the water. The house is stocked with all the kitchen necessities, plenty of towels, linens, pillows, games, crayons, binoculars, sand toys, floats, kiddie inflatable pool, bait net, etc. The house has cable TV with plenty of HD channels. Wifi and a golf cart was included which was nice for the times when we needed something to do. There is also the preserve close by. We went on a walk on the path through there a couple times which was nice. The only part of the vacation that was a bit stressful was the water taxi. The captains aren't very hospitable so just ignore their grouchiness when booking a pick up (make sure you schedule a week ahead of time). We had never had a vacation like this so packing was interesting, grocery shopping was tough and loading onto the water taxi could have been better coordinated. My advise to newbies... When the reviews say "pack light", that means don't pack anything you think the house won't have, because it will. We didn't need extra trash bags, towels or toys (for toddler) since there was plenty there. And we brought WAY too many clothes. There is a washer and dryer in the house so for the 8 days we literally did not wear anything more that 2 or 3 bathing suits, 1 pair of sandals, 2 sets of PJs, a couple of cover ups (or T's for the guys), a hat and that's it! Since we are now experienced with the water taxi, next time we will just do a better job of packing less and combining bags as much as possible for groceries. Overall, we had such a great time doing nothing all week. Thanks Sari and Glen!"

  • Wonderful Vacation Rental

"We booked this rental many months in advance and from the start David, the owner was very accommodating in answering our questions. He did not badger us once we made the enquiry and he uses paypal which is great as we travel from outside the US and need to have the reassurance that this is a genuine rental. Anyway, this place is GREAT and as some previous renters have testified, the photos don't do it justice. This is a large apartment in a block of 23 and so you are not overwhelmed by large numbers. The rooms are big, their are modern appliances, two good TVs, lots of equipment in the kitchen, good quality furnishings with muted tone walls. The apartments are just across the road from the beach and about 2 miles or so from the main restaurant area. As this was our first time on Sanibel we didn't know layout of the island but generally the hotels and apartments are along the coast and restaurants on periwinkle road - it's easy to cycle with paved cycle ways although these are not lit at night anywhere on the island, so if you prefer to cycle than drive remember to bring lights - also it's the state law. The pool is small but the temperature wonderful, and it was never crowded with all guests respecting each others' space. Ideal place to have a rest, walk in the beach and enjoy. Loved it."

  • A perfect stay

"In short: 4 adults and 3 kids fitted in nicely. House was larger than expected, very clean and well-functioning. Ample sitting-room space and nice, large kitchen, all with views of the Gulf. All amenities in place, nothing needed. House sits on a very large lot, completely undisturbed. Very nice and quiet neighborhood. Grandparents enjoyed the backyard with palms, cypresses and perfect, shady views of the Gulf. Directly on a not-crowded part of the beach, the water being not too shallow, nor right away too deep for the kids - also perfect. Walk to the tip of the island early in the morning, round trip 1½ hrs. We have tried a number of places "up-and-down" the Gulf coastline - some cheaper, some more expensive (everything is expensive with 7 in your party!) - and Shady Palms, in my opinion, is highly recommendable and offers good value for money. We would not hesitate to stay again, and will certainly recommend. Contact with owner very easy, friendly, humorous and swift. No problems whatsoever."
