  • Perfect Weather Peace and Quiet

"We wanted to get away during school break and returned to Marco after a few years absence. It didn't disappoint. The weather was just perfect - every day was a beach day. We were able to get to all our favorite restaurants and a new one that we loved - Fin Bistro. We will not go so long again without a visit."

  • Caps #8 is now a yearly family tradition....amazing cottage & amazing owners!

"We were so lucky in our selection of White Caps #8 for our family visit to Sanibel Island! The cottage is absolutely magical & as close as you can possibly be to the ocean. Every square inch of the cottage has been well thought out, beautifully furnished & is extremely CLEAN! We cooked & really appreciated the dishwasher as well as the washer & dryer. (It was wonderful to not come home to loads & loads of dirty clothes to wash.) The kitchen is fully equipped & ready for a week stay or perhaps longer. A huge thank you to Michael & Kathy for allowing renters at White Caps #8 through VRBO/HomeAway. This cottage is so special it would be hard to share with anyone besides family. All three of us seemed to have found it to be a spiritual place…. a calming retreat from our day to day reality. Our trip was truly an incredible opportunity for our family to recharge, regroup & be together. Our plan is to return to White Caps #8 each year as a family tradition. PS: Something to consider for any trip to Sanibel or Captiva are the “no see um” bugs. We had read up on this pesky problem, planned ahead & purchased Cactus Juice as a natural insect repellent. Unfortunately, natural repellents were not a good option for our family & we will be using a product containing over 30% DEET in the future. Some of the bites actually stung when we were bitten & others showed up hours later. Be prepared…….these bugs are brutal & could have easily ruined our trip. Please also remember to grab salt, pepper & your favorite seasonings if you plan to cook as well as detergent, bleach & fabric softener if you plan on doing laundry. We went to Target in Fort Myers before we arrived & picked up a few things thinking the cost would be lower. We could have grabbed everything we needed at Bailey’s General Store or the Sunday Farmer's Market on the Island. Their prices were AMAZING…..actually more reasonable then Target."

  • Well-Stocked Condo in a Friendly Community

"My husband and I rented this condo for January through March in 2015 and 2016. The unit is comfortable and roomy. The kitchen is well equipped. We especially appreciated the technology set-up, which includes wi-fi and printer/fax/scanner. The owner, Dave, is always looking for ways to make a renter's experience better. This year, we found a new, adjustable mattress; two bags of golf clubs; and a large-screen TV in the living room complete with surround sound. If you're a beach person, the garage is stocked with sand chairs and beach toys. Just about every morning we walked one building away to the nature preserve for a one- or two-mile walk. The neighborhood pool is just a short walk down the street. A five-minute walk gets you to the Clubhouse and the Activity Center. Jet Blue Park, home to Boston Red Sox spring training, is a quick drive away. You're also conveniently close to Fort Myers airport, just down Treeline Avenue, one of the few less traveled thoroughfares in this busy city. There's also easy access to I-75, which comes in handy for accessing Lovers Key State Park and the Bonita Springs beaches. After a busy day in the sun, it's nice to come back to the shady, north-facing screened-in lanai, which is nicely separated by a large pond and grassy areas from the houses across the way."
