  • Several things make it a 5-star -

"Overall, we enjoyed the house and would return, but it is not a 5-star compared to others we have rented, both in Beachwalk and in other locations. This review definitely is not to discourage anyone from renting, but we think others might have some of the same expectations we had after reading the reviews with high praise for cleanliness and décor. Those expectations resulted in disappointment when we first arrived. The disappointment waned as we focused on the positives. 5-star qualities: Location – we consider the Beachwalk Isles community very desirable – convenient, lovely, well maintained, safe Size – the house is spacious with some open areas and some that are more private & quiet Pool – very nice pool and lanai View – the lake view is lovely and calming; various birds and wildlife are entertaining Kitchen well stocked with dishes, etc; comfy beds and sofas; good book selection; huge master bed and bath; great storage; owner supplies good info on activities, shopping, restaurants, etc. But there are some things that make it less than 5-star. Contrary to some of the glowing reviews, we experienced the following: The ice maker wasn’t functioning and obviously hadn’t been working for a while since there were ice cube trays in the freezer. Soon after our arrival we contacted the property management company; when the rep came out he said he would email the owner but we heard nothing further. In that same contact, we requested replacement of three burned out light bulbs (too high up to be reached without his tall ladder). He apologized, said the cleaning crew should have notified them of the light issues. Cleanliness – there was some very dusty furniture. And when we put some snack bags on top of the refrigerator, we found it quite dirty. Items on display on top of the cabinets had many layers of dust and some cobwebs, same for some light fixtures. The coffee pot was unwashed. Window blinds had major dust bunnies. Apparently the cleaning crew ignores more than burned out light bulbs. Some dated furnishings – though they were adequate, some things show wear and could use updating, such as laminate countertops, original faucet fixtures, carpeting which was worn and, in some areas, stained. We rather doubt that the owner is aware of the cleanliness issues. Seems like that’s something Vacasa might be responsible for. As previously stated, we enjoyed our month in the home; the issues we encountered were not major."

  • Great place to stay in Fort Myers

"I just stayed at this condo for the past 4 months. When I first walked in, it immediately exceeded my expectations. It is tastefully decorated and you feel like you are in a home. The living room is extra large and has a big "L" shaped leather couch which is great for watching the 42" tv. There are 3 bedrooms. The master and the second bedroom both have queen beds. The master has it's own full bathroom and also a TV. The third bedroom has 2 twin beds. There is another full bath between the other two bedrooms. There is plenty of closet and drawer space in each room. There are even fishing poles you can use. The kitchen is very well stocked and I usually cooked every night. There is a community pool which is very nice. Lots of chairs. Recently, I believe they regulated the temp so that it is refreshing when you get in the pool. Publix is about a 5 minute walk (use the back gate and ask for the code to get back in). There is a Super Target that has a Starbucks in it. There's a local coffee shop at the corner of Beachwalk and San Carlos. There's a good sport's bar called Ron Dao's and they make pretty good pizza. There's a great microbrewery called Point Ybel on San Carlos blvd that has live music several nights of the week. All of this is in walking distance to this condo. A couple of other good places to eat are McGregor's on McGregor Blvd, Cape Cod Fish and Marko's diner. For ice cream, go to the Love Boat on San Carlos blvd. My local hangout is Dixie Fish Co before you go over the bridge to Fort Myers Beach. Fort Myers beach is about 5 miles away. It's an easy bike ride. It is very easy to get to Sanibel too. Two good beaches on Sanibel are Lighthouse Beach and Bowman's beach. If you go to Ft Myers Beach, it's worth heading south to get away from crowded Times Square. I like to go to Beach Access 17 where there is a shelter and bathrooms. If you like to cook, there's a good fish stand on McGregor Blvd as you are heading towards Sanibel. Try the Florida Hogfish. I stayed in this complex two years ago and wanted to stay again since I liked the area. I was lucky to find this great condo. I highly recommend it."

  • Beautifully decorated condo, fabulous views, great indoor/outdoor living

"When we get away for a vacation we want to stay in a place that is at least as nice as the one we left at home. This condo exceeded out expectations. At home we can sit outside and look at the lake, but his condo has forever views. You will be fascinated by all the big fishing boats or yachts cruising in the sea lane right out your windows. At night we took our bottle of wine and sat on the lanai and watched the lights of the city in the distance as well as the cars going over the bridge. One of the great things about the lanai is that it is screened in and gives great breezes during day. It was the place we ate breakfast the most often too. The marina is just next to the condo (actually the pool area and surrounding trees hide the Marina from the first 2 floors), and it is fun to visit and see the various boats, but being so high up we never head any noise. The pool is nice, private, and not crowded but we did not use it as we have one at home we do not use. The condo itself has some interesting features. There are 3 bedrooms, a master and 2 secondary bedrooms. The master is, of course, the largest with a bath with double sinks, separate tub and shower, The first secondary bedroom is almost as large with 2 queen beds. My husband and I stayed in this room so that we each could have our own beds (he moves around a lot a night) and the mattresses gave us both an outstanding night's sleep--the great ocean air could have helped too. The third bedroom has a queen size bed too which would be perfect for a teenager or college student who needed a study area during the vacation. The condo had every appliance we needed and then some as I am not real fond on cooking on vacation--but it can be easily done. My husband loved the big screen TV with which he watched his beloved football games. Overall, we had a blast. The only negative is that we were not there long enough."

  • Beautiful home in a lovely, quiet location!!

"Brian and Anita's home is beautiful and they were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout my stay! The home is in a quiet neighborhood back from the main street so it's a lovely place to relax and unwind from the stress of everyday life! I would absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing place to stay in Fort Myers!!"
