  • Everything we needed and more

"Peaceful location I have visited on many occasions. Great hub to visit the west coast from Everglades City to Tampa including Busch Gardens. Very comfortable and on the doorstep of a golf course . Backs onto the waterway where you will see an alligator chill out, fish leap and other wildlife enjoy the water. The rooms are spacious, spotless and have good quality furnishing. The standard in Rotonda is high and this villa didn't disappoint. I would return tomorrow and feel at home and in awe. Not too far from Port Charlotte where you will find everything you need, go over the bridge to Punta Gorda, follow the historical route to the fisherman so village for food, non high street shops and boat trips. Boca Grand is a favourite place with beautiful beaches to watch the dolphin pods go by. And enjoy an ice cream. Just a gem. Go."

  • Sun and fun

"In November 2014 my husband, daughter and I stayed at Surf Club for a wonderful week. The condo is so beautiful, bright and spacious with modern amenities. We loved it! The condo has easy access to the beach and a pool and we loved being within walking distance of restaurants, shops and playground for our daughter. We can't wait to stay there again!"

  • Perfect for large groups!

"We've stayed in numerous homes on the island over the years, but have typically had to get a couple different houses to accommodate our group. This year we wanted to be directly on the beach and all be together, so Big on the Beach was perfect for us! November is our adults only trip and we booked for 12 people and had plenty of room for everyone. The house is not as luxurious as some of the others on the island, but it is completely comfortable, spacious, very clean and great for gathering everyone together or taking time to yourself. One of the best features is being directly on the beach and not having to lug chairs, umbrellas, coolers, etc., on golf carts then down to the beach. So much easier to just walk out your door. Also, we never once turned on the A/C due to the constant ocean breeze. We merely left doors and windows open and the sound of the surf at night, was absolutely my favorite part! Keep in mind, the amount of beach fluctuates frequently on the island. We were lucky and had plenty of beach in front of the house, but I have seen the water up to the house at other times. That's probably the only issue that may effect your trip, if you're expecting to walk right out your door and land on the beach. I would highly recommend Big on the Beach for a wonderful experience and must include the caretakers as part of the reason your trip will exceed your expectations. Capt. Richie and Paula went out of their way to make sure we had an exceptional time and take such great care of the property. Thank you all for another great trip to the island!!!"

  • Fishing Swimming Fun !

"We recently celebated our wedding anniversary with some of our children and grandkids while stayng at Pelican Brief, and we couldnt have fonder memories. The owner, Jim, greeted us at the ferry dock and helped shuttle our crew of 7 promptly to the beach home. The house was clean and tastefully decorated with a fully equiped kitchen and more. Being on the sound side of the island, the home offered beautiful views of the morning sunrise. Dolphins, manatees and all kinds of birds made their way by just about each morning. At night, the fishing action was outstanding all along the beach, walking/casting in between the many docks. Speaking of dock, the property has a terrific dock equipped with fish lights as well as a cleaning station with fresh water! We swam daily and the kids enjoyed snorkeling for shells and treasure. August brings the warmest water temps, as well as your typical late day t-storm, which gave us dramatic sunset pictures with double rainbows over our shoulders! The family all had a great time and want to go back! Thank you Jim!"
