  • Island Paradise

"We spent a week at this property and didn't know exactly what to expect, it turned out to be one of our favorite vacations, we will definitely be back!! No stores or restaurants on the island, we brought all our food/drinks with us on the water taxi (10 minute ride) from the mainland. Required clothing is minimal, bathing suits, shorts, perhaps one long sleeve and you're set! The house is very well stocked and comfortable. Good size kitchen, lovely deck and porch swing. There is great cell service, direct TV, but you won't need those much or at all. The beach is steps away, chairs, towels, umbrellas are provided. Washer and dryer further limit a need to pack much! The size of the island provided us with almost our own private beach each day, tons of wildlife, shelling, and the most incredible sunsets we had ever seen. Peacock Lane cottage is a winner on LGI, we are eagerly waiting to return!!"

  • Quiet Time to Rejuvenate

"Two weeks in BoneFish Bungalow. A good retreat for a couple of weary travelers. Covered deck was great, time to sit and watch the waves, the birds, dolphins, and wonderful pet dogs. (we purchased some treats to give the pets as they walked by). Inside was inviting, lots of whimsical items to catch our eyes and imaginations. The kitchen was well stocked with various items that came in handy. Had friends visit for one night and it is a bit of a tight fit for more than two adults, but for one or two nights very doable. Rented a golf cart for a couple of days, but one would probably have sufficed for us. Staff, including Buddy and Traci were very helpful and were able to answer our questions about a variety of things, from recommended off island restaurants to getting the heat/ac units working for us. We very much enjoyed the quiet surroundings of this island retreat. Only a couple of suggestions, although they should not be major concerns. One is to consider adding one or two cushioned lounge (reclining) chairs for the deck. There is no seating to allow for this repose and I would have loved these on the deck. The other item (although not crucial) is to fix the shower door so that it is easier to slide/glide on its' tracks. I think this home is ideal for either small families, two couples who are close friends, or anyone who seeks a pretty spot on an ideal beach for fun and relaxation. We will recommend this place to friends looking for an island adventure and a place of retreat. Our best to the Gaines family and to the owners, (who were helpful in instructing us in figuring out the heating system; Our first couple of nights were very chilly). Thanks to Laurie Gaines for suggesting this home to us for our holiday."

  • A Relaxing Vacation

"We arrived for a short 4 day excursion and were fortunate enough to book this house for our time frame on Little Gasparilla Island. From the moment we stepped foot on the island, it was clear this was going to be a very relaxing vacation. We arrived on dock 21, and it was only a 2 minute walk from the dock to the house. If you have a lot of baggage, a golf cart is made available for your convenience should you rent this house. You can simply go back for your bags or heavier items. From the house, it is also a short 2 minute walk to the beach side, which had the most beautiful sunset we had seen in years. The amenities in the house were great, very nice dishwasher and laundry setup, the entire back porch is screened in and we did not eat one meal inside because of that. It is even screened in underneath the floor joists, so no bugs at all! The spiral staircase to the master suite and corresponding views of the bay/beach was also a highlight. If you are into mystery novels or are a history buff, don't bother packing your books! There were plenty of books and DVDs to occupy our time when we weren't at the beach or on a golf cart ride around the island. We had an excellent time here, and would recommend this house to anyone and everyone who wanted to get away for a relaxing vacation."
