  • Perfect Beach Cottage On Absolutely Beautiful LGI

"This was my wife and I first vacation to Florida together, and boy did my wife do her research in picking out the absolute perfect paradise to stay in! Only being married for a couple years,Randy's "Long Haul" cottage was perfect as far as the financial aspect of it.From what I gather, the way he runs things at the cottage allows people like my wife and I to experience a vacation like no other that we wouldn't otherwise be able to afford.Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Randy, but from our email and phone conversations he seems like a great guy who wants everyone to be able to experience this gorgeous island. Sorry for rambling on....The cottage was perfect for all our needs,it is more than equipped with enough utensils ect to cook and get done with whatever you may need to..The great thing is,is that it is encouraged to leave behind things that obviously you not need to take back home with you ( a bottle of ketchup, mustard ect) so that the next visitors can possibly use these ( and other) items if they choose to. As far as room in the cottage, there is MORE than enough room for all your needs and the master bed,in our opinion was very comfortable. We didn't have visitors ( or kids, yet) to judge the other bed.The bathroom was just fine and had both a shower/tub combo. Also, even though the a/c were the type that fit in the windows, they were very cold which is a plus when you're down in South Fla.The screened in porch outside on the deck made for a nice place to eat at night and or just relax in the evening to feel the nice Gulf breezes... Speaking of the Gulf,I just wanted to point out that when the water taxi drops you off at your dock, its literally a 5 min or less walk to the cottage. You're gonna want someone to run up to the cottage to grab the big white barrel so they can wheel it back to the dock, load your grocery's, luggage ect and then use it to get everything to the cottage. This barrel ( or cart?) Has two wheels,so its very easy to roll it even with all your belongings ( you'll see what I mean) The Cottage is in such a great location, being only approx 5 mins to the docks ( water taxi) Tip: if you go down by the dock and hang out for a bit, you're literally guaranteed to see dolphins swimming in the harbor there! We waited 15 mins for the water taxi and saw about 4 or 5 dolphins! And just to end this- The Gulf Of Mexico! 5 min walk in the opposite direction. Just GO!EVERYDAY! The water is crystal clear, warm and so calm. Its Heaven. I💜LGI"

  • Quiet Time to Rejuvenate

"Two weeks in BoneFish Bungalow. A good retreat for a couple of weary travelers. Covered deck was great, time to sit and watch the waves, the birds, dolphins, and wonderful pet dogs. (we purchased some treats to give the pets as they walked by). Inside was inviting, lots of whimsical items to catch our eyes and imaginations. The kitchen was well stocked with various items that came in handy. Had friends visit for one night and it is a bit of a tight fit for more than two adults, but for one or two nights very doable. Rented a golf cart for a couple of days, but one would probably have sufficed for us. Staff, including Buddy and Traci were very helpful and were able to answer our questions about a variety of things, from recommended off island restaurants to getting the heat/ac units working for us. We very much enjoyed the quiet surroundings of this island retreat. Only a couple of suggestions, although they should not be major concerns. One is to consider adding one or two cushioned lounge (reclining) chairs for the deck. There is no seating to allow for this repose and I would have loved these on the deck. The other item (although not crucial) is to fix the shower door so that it is easier to slide/glide on its' tracks. I think this home is ideal for either small families, two couples who are close friends, or anyone who seeks a pretty spot on an ideal beach for fun and relaxation. We will recommend this place to friends looking for an island adventure and a place of retreat. Our best to the Gaines family and to the owners, (who were helpful in instructing us in figuring out the heating system; Our first couple of nights were very chilly). Thanks to Laurie Gaines for suggesting this home to us for our holiday."

  • Wonderful Cottage on Amazing Island

"Just returned from a wonderful 7 days on Little Gasparilla Island staying at After Dune Delight. The cottage had everything you needed for a simple, quiet, beach vacation. Lots of leftover supplies from previous vacationers. Perfect location, very close to the state park. Spend many hours on the beach looking for shells. Distance to house from dock is kind of far, so be sure to rent a golf cart or have Bret pick you up. Both are very easy reliable. We will be back!"

  • Perfect Escape

"The place is even better than the pictures! Rebecca met us when we got off the boat, led us along the amazing boardwalks, and even helped us unload our groceries before showing us around. The Beach Cottage is open and airy, light and beautiful. The sound of the surf lulls you to sleep. There is always a breeze, but if you get too hot, there are plenty of spots to escape to shade while still being in the open air. It's a perfect place to lie back and smile and realize what is truly important in life."
