  • Couldn't Have Picked a Better Location

"We chose this location based on being pet friendly, close to the beach and pricing. All of the great reviews didn't hurt either. The place was spot on as advertised. Beach feel without being right on it. Only a 5 minute walk from door step to a very nice beach. Location couldn't have been better with several fantastic restaurants, a very nice convenience store, a deli and a beautiful park all within several blocks. If one cares to drive to the top of Anna Maria or the bottom of Longboat one can find some of the best seafood you'll ever experience. All of these great amenities without the tourist crowd or feel. There is a Publix supermarket 10 min South. MOTE Marine Aquarium is 15 min South and Saint Armand's Circle (a wonderful collection of high end shops) another 5 after that. Lido Beach, one of the best in the world, is just around the corner from Saint Armand's. Back on point, the cottage is absolutely perfect. Large enough kitchen amply supplied, dishwasher, hard wood floors, cable, great WiFi, an indoor as well as an outdoor shower, a nice deck, laundry and covered parking. There is also a charcoal grill for the outdoor cooking enthusiast. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway look no further. Also, The property manager is a real gem. As prompt, attentive and professional as they come. If I owned rental property in the area I wouldn't think of listing with anyone else. He made the experience all the more enjoyable with his attention to detail and his first hand knowledge of the area. You cannot go wrong here. We look forward to another visit. NOTE: Middle of August through September there are several local businesses that close to rest up from the busy season. If you book during these times you may have to drive a few miles further for certain things. I wouldn't consider this a deal breaker by any means; just a potential minor inconvenience."

  • Gorgeous beach view

"My wife and I (with a few days from an adult son) had a wonderful time in this condo. It is clean, comfortable, quiet, and had a gorgeous 180degree view of the beach and the Gulf. We could sit on the 4th floor balcony listening to the waves and when the sun was too hot, we could move inside and with the sliding doors open have the same view. The beach was never crowded and afforded miles of walking. There are chairs and a covered area making time on the beach comfortable and easy. And my son and I held fierce shuffleboard competitions. The location is excellent. A large, excellent supermarket a couple of miles away. Restaurants within minutes drive. Finally, Wielands (condo owners) were a pleasure to work with. They were friendly, responsive and helpful from start to finish. If you are looking for a lovely, relaxing getaway on the beautiful Gulf Coast, you can not do better than this."

  • An UNFORGETTABLE Vacation in a Tree House on an Island

"Our family spent a week on Jewfish Island and this will likely not soon be forgotten. On our way home we asked of all the amazing vacations we have taken around the world where would this rank and both our kids placed it first or second. We lived in the area previously prior to moving to the Carolina's. We knew a secluded island house, with limited television, intermittent wifi (only via your own connection) would be exactly what our family needed. Unplugging from the world around you to take in the beautiful Sarasota Bay, the Island life, nature and the simpler things was such a blessing. Dolphins, manatees, and an array of fish frolicked by the dock daily. We had use of a kayak and canoe which added to our adventure. We also rented a boat so we could cruise to dinner or lunch on occasion. Just outside this little tree house gem is an amazing dock which you must spend time on. The other side of the island boasts fun in the sun on the sandbar where boats like to hang out so you can enjoy people watching, floating, and it is a great place to find shells and sea life. Afterwards, you can walk back over to your nice secluded side and say ahh. Jordan the property manager is an absolutely top notch host. He goes out of his way when you arrive to help with your luggage and directions. Likewise, Patricia the homeowner is fantastic. Both ensure your stay will be unbelievable and you are happy while there. What I do recommend for future renters... I highly recommend renting a boat. The home does have 3 levels of a gorgeous floating staircase. So mommies that have young children keep this in mind. All bedrooms are open to enjoy the incredible views of the Sarasota Bay from the tree tops. Room dividers are available in the closets for privacy. We did not use them as it was AMAZING open. The home is in the TREES on a gorgeous ISLAND in FL! This is a positive. This also means there are some bugs. So make sure you bring your protection and if you open a slider or door sometimes one or two my fly in. It is to be expected. Wear shoes to your private beaches. Make sure to catch a sunrise and a sunset. You will never forget either. Be certain to enjoy the dock at night as well. Incredible what you will see in the water. The home is stocked with everything you will need. We will definitely be back if possible. We can't give enough praise. Jordan, Pat and Seashell Island Retreat (which we call the Island Treehouse) is in our hearts forever."

  • Almost perfect

"This was our second stay at this lovely property. It's perfectly situated and very comfortable. The hot tub is great and we enjoyed our cocktail in there each day! The owners and manager are very helpful. The beach access across the road is great and we enjoyed walking on the beach every day - what would make this place perfect is if there were a couple of sun loungers available on the beach - there are a couple available in the yard but to also have them on the beach would be brilliant."
