  • A Great Place to Stay on Longboat Key

"The house is in excellent condition and quite clean. It is well situated on Longboat Key and is convenient to restaurants (recommend the Blue Dolphin for Breakfast-about a 3 minute drive), the beach and shopping (St Armand's Circle). The property is pet-friendly and our Westies did well during their stay. The dock is in very good condition and the channel is reasonably wide. If you do bring a boat in, I highly recommend studying a detailed chart, as their are many shallow spots in the area. You can not make a direct entrance into the channel from the ICW, as there is sandbar in the way. That said, if you go one channel south, it is a very easy entry. I would highly recommend getting out on the Bay and the Gulf if you get the chance. We had a great week and would return to the house again on a future vacation."

  • Little Gem For a Reasonable Price

"This property had everything we needed (for a family including seniors, adults, and kids). It was ideally located just a 5 minute walk from the beach, 2 minute walk to a convenience store, restaurant and awesome park. It was clean, newly renovated, and perfect for the six of us. The owners were helpful, trustworthy, and professional. Completely bug free as well! It also had a great, quiet backyard with a table and grill that we enjoyed during our stay. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it."

  • An UNFORGETTABLE Vacation in a Tree House on an Island

"Our family spent a week on Jewfish Island and this will likely not soon be forgotten. On our way home we asked of all the amazing vacations we have taken around the world where would this rank and both our kids placed it first or second. We lived in the area previously prior to moving to the Carolina's. We knew a secluded island house, with limited television, intermittent wifi (only via your own connection) would be exactly what our family needed. Unplugging from the world around you to take in the beautiful Sarasota Bay, the Island life, nature and the simpler things was such a blessing. Dolphins, manatees, and an array of fish frolicked by the dock daily. We had use of a kayak and canoe which added to our adventure. We also rented a boat so we could cruise to dinner or lunch on occasion. Just outside this little tree house gem is an amazing dock which you must spend time on. The other side of the island boasts fun in the sun on the sandbar where boats like to hang out so you can enjoy people watching, floating, and it is a great place to find shells and sea life. Afterwards, you can walk back over to your nice secluded side and say ahh. Jordan the property manager is an absolutely top notch host. He goes out of his way when you arrive to help with your luggage and directions. Likewise, Patricia the homeowner is fantastic. Both ensure your stay will be unbelievable and you are happy while there. What I do recommend for future renters... I highly recommend renting a boat. The home does have 3 levels of a gorgeous floating staircase. So mommies that have young children keep this in mind. All bedrooms are open to enjoy the incredible views of the Sarasota Bay from the tree tops. Room dividers are available in the closets for privacy. We did not use them as it was AMAZING open. The home is in the TREES on a gorgeous ISLAND in FL! This is a positive. This also means there are some bugs. So make sure you bring your protection and if you open a slider or door sometimes one or two my fly in. It is to be expected. Wear shoes to your private beaches. Make sure to catch a sunrise and a sunset. You will never forget either. Be certain to enjoy the dock at night as well. Incredible what you will see in the water. The home is stocked with everything you will need. We will definitely be back if possible. We can't give enough praise. Jordan, Pat and Seashell Island Retreat (which we call the Island Treehouse) is in our hearts forever."

  • You couldn't ask for much more!

"My wife and I were very lucky to be able to experience this wonderful 2 bedroom 2 bath villa in February 2016. We had hoped to return for 3 months in 2017, but we were forced to cancel due to some major medical issues. The unit was very well equipped with a very comfortable king sized bed in the master bedroom. We had a few overnight guests during our stay who all said the Murphy bed in the second bedroom was also very comfortable. Wireless internet and cable TV all worked perfectly. We even brought our Apple TV with us which allowed for all the features provided by Apple TV. Kitchen was well equipped with everything you could ever need. Housekeeping did a good job prior to our arrival. A Swiffer and cleaning supplies helped us keep the unit clean during our stay. A full sized washer and dryer were very welcome. Parking is right in front of the walkway into the unit. A 20 second walk to the heated pool and a 2 to 3 minute walk to the Whitney Beaches private beach (with a variety of chair types) that were easy to move to where you wanted to enjoy the piece and quiet of the very clean beach. Many evenings we would take a cocktail across the street to enjoy the breathtaking sunset. Maintenance of the complex was wonderful. We met and interacted with many of our neighbors. Even met a couple from the town next to us in the Boston area who we still socialize with. A very short walk to the Whitney Beach shopping center (gift shop, liquor store, 2 restaurants, a fitness center, hairdresser and a lounge/bar was welcome). We really loved Longboat Key. After experiencing Naples, we can say that Longboat Key is so much nicer. While traffic was bad getting off the island in the late afternoon, if you planned in advance it was no problem. In short, you couldn't ask for a nicer place to enjoy Longboat Key. The owners were very easy to communicate with. Bruce and Betsy, Needham, Massachusetts"
