  • Home and Owner are Excellent

"My family and I stayed in this wonderful old home in 2011. It looks exactly the same now as it did back then. We often dream of going back. The year we stayed there my health was in decline. Now 6 years later I only can wish I could travel back and enjoy the beauty and wonder of this great place. I am posting this for any future prospective renters. I was just thinking of the good times we shared there so I decided to look the place up. I found my email correspondence with James (the owner) and found the address. My opinions are these. This is a fun place to stay. Wonderful and amazing wildlife and beach beauty surrounds you. The beach is practically deserted and secluded. This isn't a new build so naturally its going to show its age but that far exceeds the privacy and beauty it offers. It was clean and tidy. Old yes, but well maintained. If you want a great little bungalow that offers unmatched gulf coast beauty at an affordable price....this is the place to stay. Now as far as the owner. He was ALWAYS there for us. He helped us in every way whenever we needed anything. He met us in person on request. Answered emails quickly and i talked to him several times on the phone. I pray his health is improving and he is able to continue renting this place for many years to come. I want to be able to call him up again one day and return. If I wasn't sick we would have returned multiple times already. James thank you for sharing your home with us in 2011. Thank you for being attentive to our needs. Thank you for offering such a wonderfully beautiful and private place at such an affordable cost. I pray you are healing and feeling much better. John - July 30th-Aug 6th 2011"

  • Wonderful experience!

"We really enjoyed our stay at this property! On top of this charming cottage's gem of a location, the owners were wonderful to work with when an unavoidable problem arose during our stay. I will share a couple of things. 1- we were pleasantly surprised at the very nice kitchen & bathroom in this unit (The pictures do not do it justice). Great appliances and well appointed bathroom (no tub btw, but a beautiful walk in shower). 2- AC works well in the home which was necessary for us because I am very pregnant & we had a two year old in tow. 3- A quiet & secluded beach although we shared it closely during our stay with the house next door which was accommodating two large families for the week (with 6 plus kids between them). I can imagine how secluded it would feel to visit with no one staying on either side as previous reviewers have experienced...but despite this, the property & area are unusually peaceful for a summer family vacation in FL :). 4- We are Caribbean lovers & are so happy we chose this property. It has a certain charm & rustic feel that resembles our visits to different Caribbean destinations over the years. We stumbled upon this Florida unit because we were deliberately trying to avoid the zika virus this summer (being that I'm pregnant) we are so glad we did because we are already planning and anticipating another stay here next year :)."

  • Great location with private beach and gazebo

"Our family consisted of six adults and two children. There was plenty of room for all of us to have private and shared spaces. We especially enjoyed the large dining room for our family meals. We spent a lot of time at the gazebo in the late afternoon and early evening as we watched the daily sunset. We kept the boat at the boat dock and tried our hand at catching some of the fish that was hanging around the dock. Stump Pass was just a short boat ride away with nice sandy beaches and Don Pedro Island was a great spot for shelling. The reason I can't give this 5 stars is due to the repairs that need to be done to the house and the outdoor areas. Pressure washing, painting, dock repairs, and electrical rewiring would enhance the property. Patricia promptly responded to our concerns about the wiring and the AC drainage issue and I hope that those issues will be corrected. Overall this is a nice rustic beach house and provides a lot of space for a family. We would stay again. Thanks, Sandy"

  • Great 2016 Vacation

"My family and I stayed here for a wonderful two week vacation. The villa is beautiful and in a private location. The salt water pool is so nice. I also love the layout of the home with the largest master bedroom being on one side with a beautiful large bathroom. Its close to the beach and we enjoyed using the bikes to get to the beach and around the neighborhoods. This property is well managed and cared for. The owner is great to book with. This home is highly recommended."
