"What a perfect, relaxing vacation our family of 6 had in this beautiful Marco Island home! Our 3 elementary-aged kids loved the clean, heated pool and all the pool toys. They swam in the pool every morning and every night (the pool is completely screened in - no bugs!). Our college-aged daughter appreciated having her own beautiful bedroom (with a king-sized bed!) and private bathroom. Plus, she loved sitting out in the sun all day on the comfortable lawn chairs on the secluded patio on the side of the house (complete with an orange tree, a lemon tree and beautiful flowers everywhere!)
This place was fully-stocked with pots, pans, utensils, appliances, towels, toys, DVDs, wi-fi...and TVs in every room. We played Yahtzee as a family and we'll always remember that silly night, sitting around the dining room table playing that game we found in the cupboard. This house is made for a family looking to enjoy Marco Island, whether staying home and enjoying all the comforts this home provides, or eating out, or touring the Everglades, or boating (there is a beautiful, sturdy dock with a boat lift...we didn't use the lift this time, but if we are able to rent this house again, we will surely bring or rent a boat so we can enjoy more of the water fun!)
It is walking distance to stores and to the beach. We enjoyed strolling to the beach to watch the sunset. We saw eagles in the trees on the 10-minute walk to Tigertail Beach, and we saw dolphins playing in the water not far from the house!! We rented a pontoon boat one afternoon and enjoyed going in and out of the bays, looking at all the lovely homes and watching the dolphins and birds.
We drove to Key West (about 4.5 hours away) and had fun there. We drove 45 mins to Everglades City and had a blast flying around the Everglades on a fan boat. We liked the food we were able to buy at the concession stand at Tigertail beach, but we liked the actual beach better at the South Beach on Marco Island, which was just a 5 minute drive from the house. Our favorite restaurant was Snooks Inn - they don't take reservations, but worth the wait!
One night we hosted a delicious cookout for 7 of our relatives...the grill worked perfectly and there was plenty of indoor AND outdoor seating for all 13 people...inside there is a breakfast bar that seats six, plus a large dining room table. Outside there is a large patio table and a smaller 4-person table, plus many lawn chairs and smaller side tables.***** 5 STARS"
